Bug Reports / Album info not displaying from device in musicbee display

All it is showing is album art and track names. Album / artist / track numbers etc. all show as blank. It does report correctly on my device display though, but makes it near impossible to select albums to delete off my device from within musicbee.

Bug Reports / Musicbee wont play files Windows 10

Fresh install Windows 10 64bit (I see there is now windows mediaplayer in the install - I suspect this is the difference).
Have installed lame plugin (tried both 64 and 32 bit). error=BASS_ERROR_CODEC
I have looked up all topics on this in the forum. Nothing works. Have installed K-lite codec pack and as many others I could find.
Whats weird is that VLC mediaplayer plays my mp3 files and even Irfanview image viewer!...

Bug Reports / Cannot drag albums into playlist Version 3

I left click to on an album cover to select the entire album, and when i drag, it reduces down to one or 2 tracks as a selection, which cannot be dragged anyway. Once selected I can select the highlighted tracks themselves and drag, but i'm sure we used to be able to drag via the album as opposed to tracks. Great job on the revised program in general, thank you very much.

Installed, and immediately noticed 2 omissions:
1: no option for random skin
2: can't right click on bottom volume / control / player control and click on 'output to' - specified audio device.

MusicBee Wishlist / Vertical Thumbnail Browser enhancements

Great addition this was, thanks.
As was requested in a previous post, it would be nice to have the ability to adjust thumbnail size here for those with larger monitors. Perhaps just a default / medium /large selection would suffice.
Also
It is updating the thumbnail artwork with artist images from the web, which is taking FOREVER. I.e. an option for the thumbnail selection to simply choose a random album cover that exists within the files, would be almost instant. I don't store any images in a folder within the artist, i always embed the album art.  I realise the logic for it not to be album cover specific, but where the thumbnails are so very small, the picture is hardly visibly identifiable anyway.

PS, i just found where this downloading Artist art is hiding, and whilst they are all good quality images, it may be an idea in the 'Show Album Art' floating window to add the selection 'Artist Pic' in addition to the existing  'Playing Tracks' and 'Selected Tracks'  displayed art options, and just link it to these files.

I was elated at the caution window appearance in the last version, as i had accidentally renamed over 1000 songs, - a few times, - through careless dragging and dropping.!
Suggestion - How about a cautionary window that tells you you are about to create duplicates. I know it exists if i drag doubles into a playlist, but it does not appear if i drag a folder from windows explorer into the MB main window. It happily creates duplicates in that instance. Why would i drag from windows explorer you may ask?! - because if i want to update tracks of just 1 artist, it is WAY quicker doing it this way than a rescan....

Vaguely linked to the general 'improving of the EQ settings'.
When i 'over' tweak certain frequency bands in the new 'and better' 15 band range, i find that i have to reduce the pre-amp to prevent saturation / clipping resulting from my over zealousness. Perhaps in the background of each band slider a color coded VU meter could indicate which channels are over saturating (red at the top of the meter is pretty standard). I would then simply slide the pre-amp down until the weak link is not over saturating. Yes, a frill, but this is the wish list after all.

Steven, thanks for all your hard work.
I know i can adjust the date added field in the 'properties folder' of an undocked edit window.
As it a lot to ask to be able to do it for multiple tracks simultaneously, and for the edit screen to be docked when i do it?
I use it so often, and it is very laborious to change the field one track at a time.
Pretty please?.......

Is it possible to make the Date Added field manipulable?
My problem:
I found an album with 2 corrupt tracks, - so i delete those 2, re download. Now i want to view all my latest music, so i sort by date added in the main panel, and of course those 2 tracks appear first. I wish to be able for them to have the same date tag as the original download (sometimes years back). Can I?

Seems logical that music files need to re-organise, most often, once tags have been edited. Could you please allow this setting in preferences or a check box option in the windows when you are 'autotag by album / autotag by track' ing? Ta muchly

MusicBee Wishlist / Menu visual enhancements

These are frills, really not need to haves, but would be nice:
The header bar in the main library view, sometimes has to restrict the text if the column is too narrow. Typically, columns affected are 'Track #', 'Play Count', and 'Date Added'. (for my selection obviously). They all end off like 'Track...' 'Play...'  '11/Sep/ 2011...'
COuld we have a selection to 'wrap' the words in that row? Then we could just resize the column to fit all words in, and our O.C.D. factor would not be disturbed? :-). Yes i know you can drag the column wider, but it occupies unneccessary space, especially where the data in the column is only 1 or 2 characters wide, like the abovementioned columns. I want the columns to be as narrow as possible whilst displaying all the words in the header, if you know what i mean.
Also can we have the option to center the columns? Track # and Play count would be 2 columns i would definitely center.
Lastly, Can you apply the short date in date columns, like 20/sep/2011 or 20/09/11 instead of how it appears now '20/sep/2011 10:35 PM'. I.e. just not include the time too, or have an option to not add time in as well. I know some of these are driven by my date setup of my PC. Please advise what i can do if it can help.
>> Ah, one last thing, - allow lyrics to appear as a 'new tab' alongside music library and artist info (as per my preferences currently),  instead of it being docked in a panel or a free floating window. The tabs row facility is underutilised methinks, - many other windows could be placed in that tabs row as 'new tabs' or 'add as new tab', - it allows for a less cluttered front end.
I would definitely add the 'now playing' and 'lyrics' windows in that tab row. Currently i just have the 'Music Library' and 'Artist' info in the tabs row.
Like i said, nice to haves, not needy.

MusicBee Wishlist / Auto Tagging Albums Online

Twould be lovely indeed, if we could set the default checkboxes to be updated in the search. For some reason about 200 albums of mine lost their track numbers, so i'm autotagging. Often the 'Genre' field fill in the search is completely random, or even represented by the release year... SO as a rule, i dont wish to update that field. Having to 'uncheck' this field each time before applying the tag has become tiresome, considering how many albums i have to update.  I.e. could we select default information to update in this function please.
It could be as easy as the check boxes i uncheck in a search, stays unchecked for the next search, and vice versa? could work, would work...
Fantastic program this is.

Can we get a narrowing link for search refinement like Windows MP does? I.e. click on an 'active' field which takes us to an exclusive list like artist or album. Like a hyperlink like you have all over your website here, but where the target is in the music library. I wish i could paste a picture to show you, - hard to explain.

MusicBee Wishlist / Dragging music files into correct album

SO i have a split album, which is supposed to be the same album. Its way easier to drag the track /s from the incorrectly named album, over the cover art of the correct album and drop them there which automatically updates them to that album's tag details, then have to do an album search and tag correction online.
