When editing the genre of a track and saving it, it assigns that genre to the track itself but a lot of my music has multiple artists, some of which who make different genres of music than the other. So when I sort or search by genre, artists that shouldn't be popping up, pop up because they collaborated on a track with an artist who is in the genre I was looking for.

As the title says, when viewing the thumbnail browser, column browser, etc. by genre, it would be nice to input a description telling you about the genre itself via wikipedia descripion of the genre or manually from the user that pops up when you mousover a genre.

Questions / Multiple selections in tag hierarchy?
« on: March 25, 2021, 11:19:13 PM »
Is this possible? Is there a way to suggest this to be implemented? I really like the feature in column browser and I would find it very useful for the tag hierarchy as well.

Questions / Tag explorer edits not showing up
« on: February 20, 2021, 10:24:45 AM »
I'm not 100% sure if I am editing it correctly or not, but several of my edits I have made won't even show up in the explorer panel. Is this a bug? Or am I just not getting how to do this correctly?

Questions / Autotag by track window cuts off

I'm using Windows 7, have my screen resolution up all the way and I can't resize the window. How do I fix this? I haven't used the feature since before I updated Musicbee and it was fine then.

Questions / Is there a way to separate columns?
« on: May 25, 2020, 03:52:47 PM »
Hi, I love everything about musicbee...except 1 minor detail in the UI, there are no lines separating the columns which makes it incredibly hard for me to see when I'm trying to put in info on a blank track via the main panel. Like I like how there are alternate shades of color separating every other track row with a lot of the skins available, but when you have a wall of tracks with no other info than the track name and artist, everything just kinda melts together horizontally and I hate it. I attached an example of what I want it to look like, sorry for only the 1 line, I couldn't figure out how to move my pen tool path in photoshop to put lines for each column.

MusicBee Wishlist / A couple of shuffle settings suggestions
« on: August 11, 2017, 10:14:45 PM »
When I want my playlists on shuffle, it doesn't matter what I currently have the shuffle settings set to, I always end up hearing the same songs over again within an hour and some songs never get played at all. What I want is when I turn shuffle on, and listen to each song equally sometimes. I want the option for shuffle to give priority to track I've played the least amount of times.

I also want the option to not hear a track more than once during a playthrough on a playlist. I want more balance in my shuffling.

Thanks for reading this.

Hi, I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I've made other auto playlists just fine with no problem, but when I try to make one by year or decade, nothing shows up even though my tracks have the year filled in. Any help would be appreciated.

Questions / Where is tag data stored? and can I embed data into tracks?
« on: December 14, 2016, 01:06:55 AM »
When you got to edit info such as genre, mood, year, etc...I noticed that the data is not stored within the track itself, but on a separate database provided by musicbee. I'd like to know where that database is stored so I can back it up just in case something happens to my computer or musicbee.

I also would like to know if there is some way to transfer/embed all of the tag data into the tracks themselves, so when I actually look up the properties of a track in windows explorer, the genres match the genre data in musicbee?
