Questions / Possible to enlarge the lyrics panel?
« on: June 19, 2017, 09:07:44 AM »
Hi,

Is it possible to increase the size of the lyrics panel in the "Now Playing" view? I'd be happy to increase the size of the left and right subpanels (artist bio and lyrics) so that they covered the background completely instead of leaving a blank space in the centre. At the moment, a lot of lines get wrapped so I have to scroll down to read the rest of the lyrics.

Thanks

Ben

MusicBee API / Access MB from external app?
« on: February 28, 2017, 01:05:11 PM »
I've looked at the API documentation, but it seems focused on writing plugins for MusicBee. Is it possible to write an external program that interacts with a running instance of MB to get access to the music library? I'm thinking of writing a Python app to automatically copy tracks to a portable music player.

Bug Reports / Error on startup, MusicBee 3.0 latest
« on: December 29, 2016, 10:33:07 AM »
I got the latest patch from http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=18462.0 for my new Windows 10 laptop. Previously I've used MB on Windows 7 without problems. But this time, it wouldn't start up at all. Here's the error:

Questions / Stop auto-playlist refreshing
« on: May 17, 2016, 11:51:18 AM »
I have an auto-playlist called "Never Played", with the following settings: [Album Track Count] > 1, [Play Count] = 0, shuffle random, select by album.

I use this to copy albums to my MP3 player.

However, the playlist refreshes itself every so often, so the order gets shuffled around. This isn't terrible, but MusicBee freezes while it's refreshing, so it's a bit annoying. It seems to happen when I reach the end of a 'now playing' track, or when I finish a copy operation. Is there a way to stop it from refreshing? I'm assuming it's because [Play Count] is dynamic and could change when the currently-playing track changes.

I'm using MusicBee 2.5.5804.

Thanks!

Questions / Filter out music that has already been copied to a device?
« on: January 31, 2016, 09:25:13 PM »
So I'd like to copy a random selection of albums to my portable device. OK - that's easy, I create an auto-playlist and use the 'Send To Device' right-click menu. But - my device has an SD card, so it appears as two devices in Explorer. So it can happen that I'm copying something that is already on the device. Can I somehow filter out from the auto-playlist music that already exists on a portable device?

(Also - it would be nice if I could see at-a-glance how much free space each device has.)

Bug Reports / Crash on ripping scratchy CDs
« on: January 29, 2016, 10:27:47 AM »
I'm ripping a CD which has a scratch on the last track. I have the 'secure rip' option set, so it verifies the rip on completion. But it seems to really struggle with this track. It gets stuck on 'ripping' (with no percentage shown), and when I click 'Cancel', a message pops up telling me that a background process can't be stopped, and I should probably restart MusicBee. So I do, but the same thing happens again. In fact, what happens is MusicBee has to be forcibly quit, and afterwards I can't start _any other_ Windows programs - clicking them from the Start menu, I get the 'hourglass cursor' for a few seconds, and they appear in Task Manager, but there's no window. I have to restart Windows to get back to normal! This is a really weird problem that I've never seen before, and I imagine it will be hard to replicate - but I thought I'd better post it in case something could be done.

I'm running the latest version of MB 2.5, on Windows 7 64-bit. The CD in question is Massive Attack's Mezzanine.

Questions / Album duration including duplicates
« on: January 20, 2016, 11:53:29 AM »
I just started using MusicBee - I migrated from Winamp, and it seems really good!

I made my library using local files, and also a couple of network locations (work colleagues who are kind enough to share their music on the network). So inevitably some of them have the same albums, and I understand I can mark those as duplicates and hide them from my library. So far, so good.

Now, I want to find all the albums of a particular length (so I can listen to a whole album on my commute home). So I search for 'Album Duration' in range 60-70 minutes. But some of the results are including the duplicated albums.

See picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lrn5at4suekriez/musicbee-duplicate-album-duration.png?dl=0

Can I somehow refresh the album duration field so the duplicate tracks aren't counted?

Thanks

Ben
