Questions / MusicBee AndroidTV player
« on: July 29, 2018, 02:11:11 AM »
I want something beautiful on my Android TV Device (My personal choice is Nvidia Shield)

And I'm guessing a lot of android AND iOS users want something aesthetically sexual for their device to go through and play their music.

The whole thing about AppleTV and Android TV is; you want to show off. You want to have something beautiful and visual. BUT when it comes to MusicBee users, you also want all the tags and everything that makes MusicBee the badass of music organization and playback.

I've tried using the MediaMonkey app. (it has limited Android TV Support)

I also tried an app called Equalizer+ (it has no support for anything but local files but a plugin could me made for it).

But I want a genuine MusicBee Android TV app.  Something with the elegance of the Equalizer+ app but with all the tags that you have from MusicBee.

If someone is good at android programming and wants to make something like this. Make a patreon for it and I will give you some of my money, at least some of what would have gone to alcohol, hookers or drugs. I can only spare a little. But hopefully that is enough to start something like this.

In all seriousness, what do you Android TV guys use to play music from your MusicBee app?

Questions / I can't see the new Classical Music tags.
« on: March 23, 2017, 03:41:20 PM »
I updated my MusicBee to 6276 so I don't understand why I can't see the Classical Music tag improvements, I don't see any arrow button to click. And I don't see the dedicated tags that were introduced in 6275.

Am I missing something?

Nevermind, I was being an idiot. I installed 3.0.6276 and thought it was newer than 3.1.6275.

Questions / Play MusicBee on AndroidTV via DLNA
« on: September 11, 2016, 07:09:16 PM »
I was looking for ways to access music from my MusicBee library in my living room, using at that time my Samsung SmartTV.

At first I thought I would use SubSonic, but the SubSonic plugin for MusicBee is only for Client purposes not for managing the server and that's what I would need. If the SubSonic plugin would make/update the subsonic playlists according to MusicBee at each launch or shutdown. Then SubSonic would be usable. I tried a trial of subsonic but without my playlists it's a useless mess.

Then since I bought Nvidia Shield (AndroidTV) I've been trying to find android apps that serve as DLNA clients, NOT SERVERS. No use for sending music out of the Shield.

Well after days of searching and trying out crappy apps, I found one that works. MediaMonkey player for Android. It doesn't support AndroidTV so I have to use my wireless mouse to navigate through the app.

But it works, and looks great with the huge artwork while playing.

But I was wondering if any of you guys knew about a better app for this.

I would of course prefer to have an android MusicBee app (with AndroidTV support). Not with all the features of the windows version of course. Just a barebones "remote-player" with nice GUI and a huge artwork placement. And all the correct MusicBee specific ID3 tags. If someone wants to make an AndroidTV app that plays networked MusicBee music I'll buy it!

Is anyone else streaming music to an Android TV device and if so what app are you using? I find that I'm very needy when it comes to GUI and other aesthetics, since it is on a big screen tv in my living room.

P.S.

I feel like a sellout with that MediaMonkey logo at the top left of the app.

Questions / Remote Theater View
« on: June 02, 2016, 01:35:53 AM »
Is it possible to make a Remote Theater View for Android?

Something that connects to my MusicBee library and shows a Theater View of what I'm playing through my Living Room receiver on my big screen tv?

It would be so awesome to showcase all my High Res album covers when playing music in the living room.

Questions / M4P to M4A
« on: May 22, 2015, 08:45:47 PM »
I got a few hundred songs that I de-DRM'ed with Requiem to use with my Samsung Phone, and also to stop using itunes and use MusicBee. But i didn't notice that after I stripped the DRM Requiem didn't change the file extension to M4A. So All of my songs from iTunes which I have already imported to MusicBee have M4P endings even though they are indeed M4A files. And whenever I play from MusicBee to my TV via DLNA my tv claims it can't play it. Since it probably assumes that the file is actually copy protected.

Is there a faster way to do this than to find the file open CMD type rename "whatever song name.M4P" "whatever song name.M4A", trying to open the file in musicbee asking to search for the file and choosing the same file (with different file extension)

Thanks.
