I have my library sorted by artist but I like to play by album - switching to a new album whenever one ends.

The thing is, when it plays an album by an artist I have multiple albums for, it just switches through all their albums. So it'll play random albums and then if it hits an artist like Bowie (who I have 15 albums for) it'll go through all his albums before switching to a new artist.

How can I have it play different albums regardless of artist - but still keep my library sorted by artist? Is there a way?

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd like to use musicbee to play some of my favourite radio stations such as the BBC ones. It's possible in apps like Tunein so I was just wondering if I'd missed something in musicbee.

Right now Musicbee only allows me to search by genre, but I can't find BBC stations in any of the tabs (shoutcast, icecast, soma, etc). Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Just saw this, so not sure if it's actually that new, or if this is the right place for it, but seems like Musicbee is finally taking its rightful place on the throne.

Makes me wonder how many people actually use it. Has Steven ever given any indication of user or download numbers?

I usually just hit play on the first thing that catches my eye when I open musicbee, and more often than not it's stuff closer to the top of the player (sorted by artist pics). I have to consciously scroll down to mix it up.

I just wondered if it was possible to have the player open up at a random spot each time I open musicbee, so that it's a bit quicker and easier to find some variety.

Questions / Sort listened subscription last in 3.0?

Is the listened podcast sorting option just not available in 3.0? Or has it been moved?

MusicBee Wishlist / Choose formats to convert when syncing player
« on: November 25, 2015, 01:08:54 PM »
I have a sansa clip which can pretty much play anything except m4a files. Sometimes podcasts or other files I download are in that format, and there's no option to just convert m4a files without converting everything (flac, ogg, etc) to mp3.

It would be nice to choose just those formats which are incompatible to be converted when syncing, as many players usually have just one or two that they can't play (some ipods can't play flac, for example).

When I move an album from my inbox to my library everything will move fine, but if I'm listening to a track from the album while it's moving, that song will have its tags removed and be marked as 'unknown album' in the library.

I have the setting which analyses and adds replaygain tags when moving from inbox to library, and I think this might be the cause.

Beyond MusicBee / What headphones do you like/use?
« on: September 30, 2015, 07:34:54 PM »
I've collected a couple dozen headphones over the years out of a love of music and everything audio, and I was just wondering what everyone else liked (or even disliked) in the world of headphones.

Personally I've settled on the KSC75 for around the house, the yuin pk3 earbuds for going out (I've grown to really dislike IEMs after buying so many), and a sony 7506 for the computer.

What about all of you? I'm always curious to hear about a great set of headphones I haven't tried!

Questions / How do I make a 'recently added' auto-playlist?
« on: December 05, 2014, 09:37:11 PM »
I know it comes on default installation, but I think I deleted it at some point by accident. How do I make an auto-playlist that will have, say, the 10 most recently added albums? Any help would be much appreciated.

MusicBee Wishlist / Have an option to open new tab when device is inserted
« on: September 07, 2014, 08:15:25 PM »
When inserting a certain device, a new tab could be opened with the device page, or displaying all the music on the device. I think this would be a cool option if possible.

MusicBee Wishlist / Display podcast/inbox count in tab
« on: September 07, 2014, 02:49:33 PM »
This might have been asked for before but I couldn't find it in search. Basically I was wondering if it would be possible to display a number in the tab for unlistened podcasts, tracks in inbox (or any other kind of number) in the same way that a gmail tab will display unread emails in the tab alone.

For people like me who don't keep the left sidebar open on most tabs, this would be pretty neat.

Questions / Drag and drop from inbox to library tab not working..
« on: July 16, 2014, 05:44:31 PM »
Not sure if this is a bug, but since the last update (maybe earlier, but I've only noticed now) I can't drag an drop from an inbox tab to the music tab to send to library.

I've tried dragging from artwork, to songs, to drilldown artist and tracks view - still nothing. Dragging to a playlist tab still works, so I'm not sure why this is happening. Any ideas?

MusicBee Wishlist / A crazy idea...
« on: June 09, 2014, 04:19:23 PM »
I know this is a strange idea, and probably won't (and couldn't) be implemented, but I was messing around with my windows theme sounds, and wondered if Musicbee could have an optional similar set of sounds for navigation. Something like the sound of a button being pushed on an old cassette player when stopping and starting, beeps when raising or lowering volume, a little ding when a new podcast is downloaded, or even a whoosh when sending something to a playlist or library. I imagine such things could be customised a hundred different ways if implemented.

Is this silly and impractical? What do you guys think?

This is a minor request that isn't really important, but would be neat if easily implemented.

Would it be possible to adapt the search function when on the podcast page to show podcasts with the keyword? Especially useful if it searches undownloaded shows (if they are shown). Occasionally I look for an old show I've already heard, but I don't know when it was, and I only know a guest's name, or an episode title. This would make finding them wonderfully easy.

Questions / Album stops playing when I move from inbox to library
« on: February 25, 2014, 10:15:47 AM »
This never used to happen and I was wondering why it does now. Perhaps I have a changed setting, or maybe some clash of a newly added feature (I'm on the latest update).

I used to listen to albums from within my inbox, tag them while listening, and whilst still listening, move them to the library. Even when musicbee calculates replay values it did't stop the album playing.

Now I get a statusbar message saying 'moving files' and the album/track immediately stops. My library and inbox are still in the same space, and I haven't fiddled with any settings that I can remember apart from updating. Can someone figure out what's going on now?
