Bug Reports / left sidebar is gone after cancel sync

There is a minor bug inside Version 3.4.7525

I synchronize my micro sdCard. Press then the 'cancel-button' and quit the program.
At next programstart the left sidebar is gone and is in hide mode (panel-configuration hide auto-open).

So I have to correct that ervery time after an cancel-operation

Bug Reports / Remove duplicates from playlists

I use playlists to sync my audiobooks to my XDUOO Player (Rockbox).
That works fine for a long time.
I have some duplicates in my list so I use the playlist remove duplicates option.

But in the newer Version of MB it seems to be wrong.
This normal list will be truncated.


BEFORE:
1 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    
2 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    
3 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    
4 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    
5 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    

AFTER one

1 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3    


only the first file will stay.


Is that a bug or do I wrong. I think in earlier version it works.

MusicBee Wishlist / Search & Replace History

i use often the Search & Replace-Function in Tagfields. Especially regular expressions - that works fine.
But if I close the dialog and come back later to the editfield it starts with a blank content and I have to reenter the whole string ie like
^[0-9][0-9]. Part [0-9].    


Is it possible to implement a history combobox with my last entered strings in Search & Replace?

I think I'm not the only one find this a handy function.

MusicBee Wishlist / leading and trailing blanks

Sometimes I found leading and trailing blanks in my tagfields. So columns may be not sorted correctly.
I think it would be fine to have a function that clean the beginning and the end of any tagfield.
Perhaps in Tools Menu - Tagging tools. Or clean tagfields when entered or reading data into Musicbee.

MusicBee Wishlist / Collapse the directory tree files all at once

Hi Steven,
all what I like to have ist an option for the LeftSideBar Navigator Computer Tree Display.
If the tree has open some nodes, MB still remain this open state

How can I collapse the directory tree of files all at once.

Perhaps it's possible to give the rightclick-menu a new choice to expands or collapses the tree under the node that you click on.

Bug Reports / MB 3 Library Explorer | MB 3.0.5954

In Library Explorer I choose interpret like "Nat King Cole".
Open tree.
The CD-Symbol comes up with e.g. the record "20 Golden Greats" - that's ok.

Next right-click on the CD Symbol - submenu PLAY NOW .... comes up. - ok.
Now click the "PLAY NOW" button and the first Titel from "Playing Tracks" is playing - that's wrong.

Go into the record and choose track 01 (sweet loraine)  and do a right-click on track & submenu PLAY NOW - ok.

Go back to "20 Golden Greats" CD-Symbol and click again. The old, unwanted song from "Playing Tracks"-List  is playing.

Bug Reports / Rename of files doesn't work for multiple files [BetaVersion 3.0.5895]

I test the new Musicbee Version 3.0.

Edit a single file works ok (click on title / rightclick edit / rename-tab - brings up the Fileorganizerdialog with naming template that ok.

Mark two or a whole set of titles  and click on title / rightclick edit / open the dialog -
but the rename-tab  has no function!

Is the function now  different to Version 2.x or is the function now hidden in another menus? Or do I wrong

Bug Reports / Empty CD Rip - dummy rip while targetdirectory pointed to lost directory

I have changed my ripping HDD.
So the Volume with the letter "M:" an the corresponding ripdirectory  ist not there anymore. 
MusicBee write the message "Rip.msg.inri nicht fehlerfrei gerippt" ( Area Rip.msg.no - german language file ) and do a rip without target.

Is it possible to check this and stop ripping process before the user think all is done.

Now i've change the riplocaton and all works like before.

MusicBee Wishlist / SendTo Playlist ShortCut

I sync my Player with an playlist. That works fine.
But it is a long menu way to navigate through the menupath. [SendTo --> Playlist --> NameOfPlaylist]
 
Is there a shortcut for "sendto playlist".
If not, i think it's seems to be a good wish to have this option.

Hi Steven,
 it would be nice to have an option to close all descendant children on treeview at once.
Perhaps a rightclick at treenode  is a good manner.

At the moment i have to close all nodes by hand or think I'm wrong?

Tips and Tricks / Rockbox works fine on Ipod Classic 120GB (Gen.6)

Hi, here are good news for all MB-Friends and Ipod Classic 120GB User (Gen6). 

I use the Rockbox Firmware r31516 from EmCORE [freemyipod.org].
After a slightly bumpy preinstallation method over "UMSboot",  the second stage of Installation (RockBox) was easy.

So I use MB with my Ipod Classic.
The directory structure was generated by the  tags and a search of a certain title is so much easier as by Apple.

The only problem was to find the correct USB-Driver for the Ipod.
I download the Itunes-exe and extract the file with 7Zip.
So I use the original Apple file: AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi

So I send Mediamonkey to retire and use only MB

Portable Devices / What is the last Itunes version that works for reinstall Ipod ?

I've reinstall my Ipod Classic 120GB (Firmware 2.01PC) with the actual Itunes 10.6.17.

The Database on the IPod seem to be another than earlier. So the sync does not work properly
Which version of Itunes is the right one to reset my Pod with correct filestructure, so it's work with MB?
Is v9.21 ok?

Portable Devices / Option - Disable (Ipod) Device

First of all, MB works very fine for me & is a wonderful piece of software.

But I have problems to sync my Ipod Classic 120GB with MB.
So I fall back to my former software, MediaMonkey 4.
 I use MM only to sync my Ipod. The another part I use (of course) MB.  

Every time I put the extern device into my USB-Port, MB will be try to connect to this IPod.  

My question:
 
Dear Steven, is it possible to build in a new function "Don't recognize the IPod or other extern device?    
I like to switch off external devices, (until, perhaps, You will offer a sync for my Ipod)

Is it possible to give the treeview different colors.
Depends on depth level in the treeview

I mean path (VA-Albums)\ _Compilation\Jazz\CTI Summer Jazz at the Hollywood Bowl\

MusicBee Wishlist / Computer folder tree - Button or Option to collapse all open Folders at once

Is there a way to collapse all the subfolder at once.

At the Moment  MB will remain the status of the tree. So I have to close all directory nodes manually one after the other.
It was helpful to have a "reset" Option to close (collapse) all treenodes at once.

Perhaps it would be functional to click on the first rootnode . After this click all childnodes are in initial state (all node show a '+' Symbol.
Another method may be build the function into RightClickMenu [Manage Folders].
