Thank you very much for your help and your explanations.

I will try with the virtual tags which I had not used before at all.  :)

In the library explorer (when sorted by artist) one can see the number of different albums for the respective artist.

I would like to see the number of tracks by this artist instead (or additionally) and wonder if this is possible somehow.

Sometimes it's more useful (for me) to know how many tracks for a specific artist are in the library than to see the number of albums only.

For example: "John Lennon (2)" can mean there are 100 or only 2 different tracks for the former Beatle in the library.

Maybe it ist possible to show the number of tracks for an artist too?

Thanks for your help  :)

Plugins / Re: Remote Control for iOS (MusicBee Remote companion)
« on: January 09, 2022, 02:06:34 PM »
After a long time I tried to use Remote App on my iPad Pro 21.

Unfortunately it could not make a connection to MB running on my W10 computer.

After returning to my computer I found the following error message:

MusicBee v3.4.8033.18564P  (Win10.0), 9 Jan 2022 14:43:

System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): Eine vorhandene Verbindung wurde vom Remotehost geschlossen

bei System.Threading._IOCompletionCallback.PerformIOCompletionCallback(UInt32 errorCode, UInt32 numBytes, NativeOverlapped* pOVERLAP)

It seems that an error has happened. Maybe this error message can help to find out, what did go wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

PS The first line of the error message contains an German sentence, that says: "An existing connection was closed by the Remotehost".

Portable Devices / Re: How to make MB-ratings visible on iPhone/iPad?
« on: November 08, 2021, 09:31:06 AM »
phred, thanks for your answer.

I found the MP3-rating set to ID3v2.3 in the tag prereferences. The "also save ID3v1 tags" is checked.

Since I do not really know much about these standards (ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4 or APEv2 etc.) I wonder, if my settings are correct.

Maybe someone else can confirm if the MP3 ratings done in MB are displayed in iOS music players or not?

I have got a pretty big music library with about 30.000 files. So re-rating them all manually after copying or streaming to my iPad is not really an option.

Portable Devices / How to make MB-ratings visible on iPhone/iPad?
« on: November 06, 2021, 10:09:22 AM »
When loading or streaming my (with MB rated) music files (MP3) via UPNP to my iPhone or iPad (iOS15) the ratings which I have done with MB are not visible in any of the music streaming / playing apps I have tried so far.

Other MP3 tags work fine but the ratings are not visible. The files are displayed as having not rating at all.

Is this a general iOS-problem or can I can I solve this problem by changing some settings in MusicBee?

Thanks in advance for your help :-)

Questions / How to create a new category like "Audiobooks"?
« on: June 28, 2020, 04:10:18 PM »
Hi I have a lot of guitar backing tracks in my library which I don't want to be mixed up with my standard song tracks.
It would be great if I could put them in an own category (like it is possible with "Audiobooks") so that they don't mix with the normal song tracks accidentally (e.g in auto playlists etc.).

Is it possible to create a new (sub)category which does not interfere with my standard song tracks without creating a second library?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steven, thank you very much for your help.

I found that the lyrics that are shown in the lyrics box were downloaded but not saved into the file.
So the track could not be marked as having lyrics.

In the past saving lyrics into the file happend automatically but maybe I have changed that accidentally.

So it was my mistake. Sorry for that  :(

@frankz: Thanks for fixing the screenshot issue.

I have checked the MP3 with MP3val but it found no problems.

@Steven: Have sent you a PM with a link to the file.

Thanks for your help.  :)

I have noticed that lyrics often are not found although available for a specific track.

Only after a "redo search" they do appear in the lyrics box.

Then I found that the lyrics are also sometimes not detected by MB so that a track WITH lyrics is listed as having NO lyrics.

Maybe something is wrong in my MB settings oder I do something wrong.
But maybe it's a bug that can be eliminated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Great skin.

The only thing I miss is the satisfying sound when the cassette is sucked in into the player  :)

Would be a nice new feature: skins with sound  ;)

... it seems that it is not possible to enlarge the progress bar nor is it possible to show a wave bar as progress bar.

These would be great features since it is sometimes difficult to hit the thin progress bar.

Maybe you like to have a look at that when you edit the skin the next time?

Thanks in advance  :)

Thanks for your help, Clarence.

Unfortunately the settings described by fred did not work as intended on my machine.

Only resetting the systems resolution to 100% did the trick. Sadly I would need new glasses for this resolution, so I switched it back to 110% as before.

Fortunately the described displaced buttons are only a small visual flaw and work perfectly although not displayed correctly.

Interestingly enough your "Cassette C90" skins are displayed without any problems. And since I like the C90 skin I simply use this one.

Thanks again, stay healthy in this troubled times and keep on your great skin works.  :)

Very nice skin.

Unfortunately the knobs are a little bit displaced on my 2560 x 1440 px screen.

Anything I can do about this?

Thanks for your help :)

... like it!

Very clear and readable. Especially the alternating grey and black lines in list views are very helpful.  :)
