MusicBee Wishlist / Left Panel - "Now Playing" art.
« on: January 08, 2021, 01:13:39 PM »
Currently when I play an album, I have it set to display the album cover at the upper left. After it is done playing it stays there until I play something else.

It would be nice if that album cover square turned transparent after the album was done playing and allowed the background to show through. So it is only displayed while the album is playing

Thanks
G

Searching the forum I see this is a common problem.
I have sorted my albums by artist, but when it comes to compilation/soundtrack albums you have the songs/album scattered all over.

Is there a way to resort just the Soundtrack Genre so it comes out as one album (movie name) instead of many different artists?

Thanks
G

Only thing left to do is figure out how to make the album cover in the player controls bigger.
It's really tiny now, but it is there.

Got it.
Perfect.
Just a few more tweaks and I'm done.

Amazing
Checking  "Column Browser" did 90% of what I need.
Still looking for  library view to "Tracks"....

This is excellent!
Many thanks

Trying to configure MusicBee and need a little direction/help.
I really like what I've seen so far.

Below is a picture of what I would like MusicBee to look like, but I'm not sure how to get there.
It's actually the way my Songbird screen looks.
The 3 fields across the top are (left to right).....

Genre - Artist - Album

The big Lower Main Panel shows the album and tracks and other details about the album picked and has selectable details.

The player controls are at the top but that doesn't matter too much to me.
When you play a track off an album, it displays the album cover at the lower left. When nothing is playing it does not show any artwork, just an empty box.

This whole screen is pretty simple. I just can't figure out the terminology and which buttons to push to set it up this way.

Can someone help?

Thanks
G

I figured it out.
I'm really liking what I am seeing so far. Whoever wrote this program did good.
My next feat will be to import my volumes of music from Songbird's past.

One other question.
Is there a way to specify more places to look for album info on the net? I had one album search come back with the wrong cover and no titles for the tracks.

How about grouping albums by genre?

Because of a scare I had with my music ripper player, Songbird, on an old Windows XP machine I have been looking around for something a bit more modern.
I use this computer with an M-Audio card to juice my home stereo system.
I have about 140gb of music collected which covers the last 20 years or so. It is in FLAC.
I have been able to just shove a CD in the player, have it ripped to FLAC and categorized according to genre, title and artist.

I am hoping MusicBee will do the same and that there is a way to import all those FLAC files.
The thought of having to re-rip all that music is mind numbing even if I had access to it all still.

So here I am with a big question mark over my head.

Help?
Greg

PS
My newer computer is a Win7 64 bit.
