I can still get it to work as of today, still a pain in the a** to use, and haven't found any alternative so far (though I read somewhere about syncing Musicbee and MediaMonkey)...

Still works with iTunes 12.8... But it requires expert hands and a very clean music managemetn workflow to navigate between its bugs.

Bug Reports / Re: Music Bee Startup Error
« on: May 25, 2018, 08:55:56 AM »
Works again!!! Pfeeew! Right in time for the Bachata party tonight!  ???  :)

So, let's sum up.

First, disabling Avast didn't change anything (I had chosen the option to completely disable it for 10 minutes).

Also, two funny things happened:
- I copied my AppData to the portable version: it worked! ✔️
- Back to the installed version, I tried to identify which one of the recently modified files was in question by disabling (renaming) them one by one. Turned out the culprit was (of course?) MusicBee3Settings.ini: "deleting" it solved the problem, without losing any of my settings! ✔️ Apparently MusicBee created a new config file from the .bak (nice app design!)  :-*

I compared both files and can't really see much difference, even less what line may have caused the startup to hang. Maybe you'd like to have a look?

Bug Reports / Music Bee Startup Error
« on: May 22, 2018, 06:06:06 PM »
I also started having a startup error (MB 3_2_6693, Windows 10.0.16299 build 16299) in the middle of the day, though I can't really remember what may have changed in my system at that time, except I had just added new files to my music directory.

When I try starting MusicBee, I only see scrollbars, everything else is white. I have to kill it with Tasks Manager as it keeps running in the background even after I close it (right-click menu on Windows taskbar still works).

What I tried:
- Disabling Avast: still freezing
- Reinstalling 3_1_Update3 on top: still freezing
- Uninstalling then reinstalling 3_1_Update3 and 3_2_6693: works again but all my personal settings are gone
- Copying a recent backup of my settings to its original location (AppData\Roaming\MusicBee): freezing again.

I have so much personalization in my settings that I don't see myself starting it all over again.

What can we do to solve this?

Thanks in advance :)

EDIT:

The backup I used was made after MusicBee started crashing today. ErrorLog.dat's last modified date is a few days ago. The only files in AppData that seem to have changed today are:
DialogStateSettings.dat
mb_iPod&iPhoneDriver.Settings.xml
Downloads.dat
MusicBee3Settings.ini
CustomSearch.xautopf

Awesome! Thank you  :-*

Hi Steven,

I just realized the same problem still exists when you double-click somewhere in the filtering columns (eg.: Genre / Rating / Artist) above the current playlist in the main panel: Playing Tracks get immediately replaced even while playing (using the latest 3.2.6693).

Is there a way to fix this as well?

Thanks in advance :)

Wow! You fixed it, like, on the spot! :o
I thought I was going to have to deal with it for a couple more months...

(to be very precise, the problem still remains when double-clicking on a tab, but at least it's fixed for playlists - we're now good to go without crashing our party playlists!)  :)

Thanks for not only developing the best player since Winamp (maybe even better actually) but also for being hyper-reactive to bug reports! Lots of thumbs up.

I guess I do? "About" says: version 3.2.6666

Double-clicking on a playlist still clears and replaces my current playing songs. Even after selecting "Queue next" for *both* options in "playing tracks list".
Come to think about it, an efficient workaround would be an option to confirm the clearing of playing tracks, wouldn't it?

PS: I'm using MB in normal mode (which suits my use better than DJ mode - and anyway the problem remains in DJ mode).

Hi Steven,

First of all thanks for all this good work which turned MusicBee into my all-time favourite music manager!

There is just this little thing that bugs me:
- When I double-click on a playlist while tracks are playing, it replaces my current playing tracks and starts playing the new ones. Regardless of settings.

Of course I already selected the option "Now Playing / Playing tracks list / Queue Next when tracks are playing". This option works well on single tracks (if I double-click on a track, it won't mess with my current list) but not with playlists, and I can't see any way to set it.

This is very disturbing as it can lead to fatal mistakes when using MusicBee for DJing (I told you, MB is *that* good to use it for everything) - and I already did that mistake once: as my very sensitive touchpad double-clicked on a playlist in the middle of the night, BOOM! The current song stopped in the middle and all playing tracks were gone. You can picture the faces of dancers at that time!  :-[  :-X  >:(

So, please give us the option to QUEUE PLAYLISTS NEXT on double-click when tracks are playing...

Thanks a lot!
