the database doesn't contain the length of each track on an album? I was hoping to compare to that. I think it would be a great help. I think it would work when you look at the fact that we end up with 5 copies of a song, you would give us something to compare to. I would assume one thing, that we have the song title correct, but that the other information is wrong/missing/etc..

just show us the Song that is missing from the album, with it's length, and do a sound signature check if there is one on record for it.
show us a list of song in our library with the same name, and show the percentage of signature match if possible.
let us sample each song, compare lengths to what the database says it should be, check quality, and then we decide which song to put into that spot in the album.

hopefully we choose right.

Questions / filtering display music
« on: August 01, 2016, 03:23:01 AM »
where is the filter menu?

I have looked everywhere that I could find to look. I want to filter what is shown on a tab, but I can find no way to do this other than using the search box everytime I open musicbee.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Organizing files with multiple Artist tag
« on: August 01, 2016, 02:51:31 AM »
but with this you must know what you want it to start with. If I read it right, the op is talking about organizing/renaming by the first artist in the list, he cares not about which one it is. I think it's rather likely that the first artist will also be the primary artist, or as I like tho think of it, the host artist.

for example, There's a song with Norah Jones and Dolly Parton together. Both are major names, but since Norah was the artist holding the concert, she's the Host and I consider it to be her song. In my collection she is the first name in the artist list.

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Custom Search Text inside Lyrics

bump.

This should be a check box next to the search field. simple. if you check the box, mb searches in songs and within the lyrics for the text instead of the other tags.

Questions / Re: Big Trouble after my Music Files harddisk crashed

stop copying the files from z to x

new library then IMPORT from z

is it possible that the difference in number of files is related to non music files? such as hidden windows files or artwork, etc..?

Is this the right place to request a feature?

I would like the ability to display missing tracks from an album.

for example, AC/DC Back in black

I am missing track six, but what song and length is that track? I know it's in my library, just mistagged.

It would be great if we could
...Select an album
...Then choose show album information (take this from the online database)
...Show any tracks missing in users library, in red
...Clicking on the missing track should show all tracks named similarly and show the information on those tracks, like tags, length, etc.. perhaps even the closest matches should have the sound signature compared to the online database and show a percentage of match.
...Then we can choose which file to either retag as belonging to the album or link to.
