Questions / Re: Creating Custom/Virtual Tag for Discogs info
« on: December 17, 2023, 08:37:59 PM »
Tnx tjinc, that makes sense finally
It makes a link through identifier, and only if i change that data in mb, it writes to a file
When i scan the files with that change, i can actually say: save to mb db only, to be sure, but than all new files will not get that link i guess

I do have backups yes
I'm still not sure how mb operates in this situation :)

Hey tjinc, well thank you very much, i somehow missed the requirement of identifier, and now i can see those tags in the custom tag list
But i'm still little confused, of what i'm actually doing here.
From my understanding:
- I use identifier in the define new tags option, to be able to pull non standard tags from file, and than map that tag to a custom tag
- When i create a custom tag, i must use the option to: save to music file as tag, and i'm actually writing to a file?
- Am i extracting DISCOGS_RELEASE_ID and writing it back to DISCOGS_RELEASE_ID?

I am reluctant to test this and let mb write some random tags to all my music files

Questions / Creating Custom/Virtual Tag for Discogs info
« on: December 16, 2023, 09:26:00 AM »
Hi, i don't know is this possible but since mb is so versatile of a program, i though to ask
I tag my music with mp3tag and discogs, and it saves discogs info in respective tags, what i'm interested in is creating a tag that will be used for web search option.
I can see Discogs Release ID and WWW tag written by mp3tag in tag inspector

But i can't find a way to create custom or virtual tag that will access either WWW or Discogs Release ID, i can't see them on available lists to choose from.
Any hint appreciated, ty

Questions / Restore play history
« on: July 23, 2016, 10:58:52 AM »
Hi
So i upgraded to MB3 the other day, but something went wrong and i decided to make a clean install
Everything works now, but the only thing i wish to restore from previous version is my play history.
I backed up my roaming/musicbee folder before doing fresh install, so what setting/files do i have to restore to get my play history back? if possible..

tnx
