Questions / Re: New files are not imported to the inbox
« on: May 12, 2018, 08:09:49 AM »
Hi all,

the remarkt about my age was not 100% serious, obviously. I'm an electrical engineer, linux admin and part time programmer. So computers are my friends.
I made some presumptions about how MusicBee works without reading the doc. That's always a bad idea. I should have known it better.

I used WinAmp when it was new and cool and iTunes during my time with an iPod classic (I even used a PalmTungsten E as a player). MusicBee is, so far, the best and cheepest  ::) Music Player I used.

Best Regards and go on creating your cool software

Yes, I'll do that. Thanks for the link.

My idea was a more programming-oriented view. I thought that every file that MusicBee is aware of is in the library -> controlled by MusicBee. In fact it is more a view link having a shelf with all you music CDs and and a seperate box where all you new CDs go to (Inbox).

Although I am almost 40 years old, I am confident that I will learn it one day.

I think my misconception was that the inbox is part of the library or just a different folder inside the library. In fact the inbox IS part of the library because if a file is in the inbox it is controlled by musicbee.

Can anyone tell my what exactly is meant with "library". Should the button not be named something like "Add file to music" as files are moved to the music folder (not audiobooks).

Thanks for your help and the clarification

Hey there redwing,

Oh now I understand better how the preference dialog works (the option is within the monitored folders section, right).

Usualy I use the "add files to library" Option in the Files Menu, wich has no such option. But now I guess, this directly adds the files to the music library.

Maybee It works with the "Scan folders for new files" option. I'll give it a try.

Questions / New files are not imported to the inbox
« on: May 11, 2018, 09:54:07 AM »
Hi there,

when I import files to my library I first want to have them in the Inbox (Neuzugang). The corresponding option in the preferences tab is checked (add to inbox).
But new files never show up in the inbox. They are imported to the library.

Can you give me a hint what can be wrong with my settings?

Best Regards

Questions / Sync Plalist to Moto G (Android 5)
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:27:18 AM »
Hello Guys,

you did a great job creating this software but there is a thing i cant figure out. And if this question was answered before, forgive me and please show me right place to go. I've found nothing similar.

Here's my problem:

I can sync Music to my Android 5 Phone via USB/MTP and play these songs using VLC. The playlists are beeing synced too, but VLC complains that it can not find the files. If I open the m3u file each line starts like this ...

\Music\<Artist>\<Album>\<Song>.mp3

I you change the lines manualy like this ...

/storage/sdcard1/Music/<Artist>/<Album>/<Song>.mp3

eveythings works fine. I found some options that sound like the right ones "attach path to playlists" but nothing changed.
