Questions / Why is the file type of an m4a file always reads as aac?

Why is the file type of an m4a file reads as aac no matter what codec it contains? I have ac4+ims and eac3+joc files contained in an m4a container but in the properties tab, it's file type shows as aac. I have to create a custom tag (codec) for this to be useful in sorting. Is there a plugin or work around for musicbee to read the codec correctly?
