Plugins / Re: VUMeter Plugin
« on: May 04, 2025, 09:49:39 PM »
Mediafire is just a simple solution for me. I don't get all the spammy crap because I have a piHole on the network and use ad blockers in my browser so I guess it's possibly unpleasant for some users?

I get zero income from the stuff I release here so in turn I'm going the free option. If there is a better free option available I'll consider it.

From what I can remember, the download issue ended up being that my ISP implemented some AI crap that misidentified the link as dangerous. But I let it go through and haven't had any issues since. The only thing I've noticed aside from that is the Vertical Display option seems to need MusicBee to restart to appear properly. But I'm not sure if that's intentional or a bug.

When I try to download VUMeter with MediaFire, it redirects me elsewhere saying that the download link isn't safe. It hasn't done this before, but I wanted to bring it up in case it's a serious matter.

EDIT: Even after proceeding, the link doesn't seem to work.

EDIT 2: It works now.

Skins / Re: Want to make a System Shock 2 themed skin

I came up with this based on the Spotify's Accent Dark theme by Nobuyback:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/34x46fpwmgonjgp/BeeShock.7z/file

Looks like this:

Not sure if I need to do more to it or what, but that's what I managed to make

The Mediafire link for Base64 doesn't work in Part 2, where would I be able to find a working link?

Skins / Want to make a System Shock 2 themed skin

I'd like to make a System Shock 2 skin for MB using these colors to match the wallpaper I have:

090b0c
0aae31
435d8f
c8c6c5

What would be the best way of doing so?

I keep running into this issue where I can't find the specific release of an album using the auto-tag window, even though I can easily look it up on Discogs/MusicBrainz and find an exact match. But what would help is being able to input a release code from Discogs/MusicBrainz on the auto-tag window and find that match, in a similar manner to how you do it in foobar2000.

For example, I've found this album (that I own and have ripped) on both Discogs and MusicBrainz, but I haven't managed to find ANY releases in the auto-tag window that match:

Discogs release: https://www.discogs.com/release/9439560-Soundgarden-Badmotorfinger

MusicBrainz release: https://musicbrainz.org/release/eefe3c24-980c-4ad6-9e17-05a8ca01c061

Questions / Re: How to download synchronized lyrics?
« on: October 27, 2024, 10:54:25 PM »
I used LRCGET to download synced lyrics, it's apparently also a music player of some kind but you can have it scan your library and download synced lyrics to the same folder as the files. Not sure where the sources are from, but most of the synced lyrics are correct.

Is there a way to make the font appear correctly, given that info?
I'm sorry to be blunt…
Do you really like that font at the small size that will be available for track details?
I can imagine it could work for for panels that use larger font sizes, but in my opinion it is just a bad font for use at small sizes.

At 10pts, the font seems readable to me, but it's definitely one where the font size has to be smaller to not take up screen space.

MusicBee uses the older but much faster windows GDI library for rendering but i think some fonts have issues with it. The other apps might be using the GDI plus library.
Certainly MB doesnt do any manipulations for certain characters - it just displays the text as is.

Is there a way to make the font appear correctly, given that info?

Strange - I just tried it in Word and the apostrophe does not display using the Doom font.
Not sure then. I'll let you know if I think of anything.

Yeah, the page I downloaded it from has the apostrophe in it's character sheet, but some of the titles of songs don't have it when they should despite correct spelling/punctuation. I think it's the only font I've used that has the issue, aside from fonts that are just incomplete. I'm not experienced with technical stuff, but if you can figure it out, I'd really appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum SymptomoftheUniverse,

Pretty sure this is the font - try it in another application (e.g. Word) and see if the apostrophe is displayed.

I tried it in Notepad and Word and the apostrophe appears just fine when using the font.

Questions / What could be causing this issue with the font?

For some reason or another, the apostrophes in "Heaven's Dead" and "Doesn't Remind Me" do not appear, yet they do in the lyrics on the right-hand side. Other fonts show the apostrophes properly, so it seems unlikely that it's a spelling error. But I can't figure out if this is something to do with the font itself or MusicBee, so I decided to ask here.

This is the font in question: https://www.dafont.com/doom.font
