@kimt1688 is it possible for wifi sync app to know that an .lrc file has been modified on the PC, and to push an updated .mp3 (with the embedded lyrics) to the Android device? Right now if external lyrics are added or modified, the only way to get them to sync over is to delete the mp3 on the device

In the current system, the app only processes files sent from MusicBee, and MusicBee is responsible for listing the target files.
It would be difficult to implement this without changing MusicBee so that it recognizes all changes to music files and lrc files (and album artwork, if necessary) as changes to music files.

2
I have been developing this since last May, and since then the ones I have put on the store have this specification.
The original can be copied, but it does not work on the current OS. The original source was independently modified to work on the current OS, but that can copy the lrc. However, it cannot be registered in the store.

3
With the current method (the method that supports Google authentication), only audio files can be copied to the Music folder.
As a result, the app is displaying a MIME Type error. However, when I tried unchecking this option and copying the lrc file, an exception occurred stating that the MIME Type was incorrect, similar to the artwork, and the file could not be copied.
Currently, it is not possible to send lyrics except through embedding.

I'm attempting to use the MusicBee wifi sync on my phone for the first time. For literally every song so far (I lost patience at around 30), a message pops up with the album art and the text "allow musicbee wifi sync to modify this audio file?" and "deny", "allow" options.

This is not sustainable for a library full of 52k songs. Is there a way around this? As far as I know, I have granted all permissions.

I have debugged and confirmed this on an Android 14 device.
The problem was reproduced by removing “Music and audio” from the app's permissions.
With permissions granted, this does not happen and the file is updated without prompting.
Please review the app permissions again. You can turn MusicBee Wifi Sync permissions on and off by going to Settings and selecting the app without clearing the cache or storage.
Note that the check was done with app version 2.8.1.

I am not sure the cause of the issue, but for some reason despite being on the same Wifi (MusicBee is updated to 3.6, I'm on Windows 10 and Android 12) I am able to sync when wired but of course that doesn't have the back-sync for playcounts which is why I'm using the app) I have been unable to sync today. It's been a couple of weeks since I last did, so I worried that Android had messed with the permissions (I have since disabled the option that lets them do this). I tried re-installing the app, clearing app cache, clearing app storage, I've I tried multiple wired syncs, but currently I'm stuck on the screen where it says "you have to run a wired sync first". Running one doesn't change anything, locating server immediately says not found without it seeming like it's attempting a search at all.

Is the MusicBee version 3.6.9202 OK?
Did you download it from the website? From the store? Is it portable?
Is the app version 2.8.1?
Here, the results of debugging on Android 12 show that reverse sync of play counts worked successfully with both GoneMad and Poweramp, so I think it's an environmental issue.
Is the model name of your device( under Settings → About Phone (or Device)) listed in the MusicBee device list?
If it's not there, you still need to use wired sync.
If it is there, please check that the network connection is working properly, such as by checking the Windows Firewall.
Additionally, clearing the cache or storage is generally not necessary. Doing this alone can cause issues such as old data being retrieved during reverse sync.

hello friends,

i'm on windows 11, trying to sync musicbee to a samsung s10 using the musicbee wifi sync app. it's giving me this error message for the first song of each album: "mime type error" and under, i think, it says "album artwork should be set to embedded". but the album artwork is embedded, and it only happens to the first song of each album. the rest of the songs have the same embedded artwork, but no error message. there's no picture file in the album folders i've checked either. has anyone encountered anything like this before?

Even if embedded in each music file, the settings will be disabled because the conversion will take place during transfer.
At the bottom of the device settings screen, there is an option to embed the artwork in the music file.

Version 2.8.1 has been released as the official version.
This release includes fixes for abnormal behavior and display issues.
The issue where indicators such as the clock were not visible during execution has been fixed.
Additionally, the layout of the error screen shown in the image was incorrect and has been corrected.

@kimt1688

Thank you for continuing development, and maintenance of this convenient tool. Will you consider adding skip count to the sync? Thank you again!

Adding skip counting is not that difficult, but it is not easy because the protocol between MusicBee has changed.
Since the app was discontinued last year, it will probably be difficult to change the protocol.

Hello. Thank you for the hard work. I’m facing the following issue:

Goal: Sync music ratings from PowerAmp to MusicBee
Problem: Even after setting the folders with the same name on both MusicBee and the phone, it still reports that it cannot find them and shows an error.
Version: MusicBee WifiSync - 2.8.0; MusicBee - 3.6.9156 P; Android - 14; Smartphone: S23 Ultra
Additional Question: If there are ratings from before using MusicBee WifiSync, won’t they be synced?

The conditions for performing a reverse sync of ratings from Poweramp are as follows
・The value has changed since the last sync
・The rating value is not 0
Therefore, not all rating values will be reflected.
Both conditions are designed to prevent discrepancies when ratings are manipulated in MusicBee.
It does not matter whether the settings were configured previously. The only factor is whether the value has changed since the last sync.

Im on 2.8.0 and every time I want to wifi sync, it wants to delete every track on my phone first.

I used to have this issue on the official version once in awhile.  I did delete my device and resync and it fixed it for a little bit.  I've cleared the data.

I suspect if I move all my music from /music, to music/music on my device it will work, that is what I used to have to do to get around this, but its annoying to keep doing.

I checked my device preferences and nothing has changed

The only thing that is deleted independently by the Wifi Sync App is the entire playlist.
Everything else is deleted according to the deletion instructions from MusicBee.
Does the same thing happen with wired sync?
Is this a problem specific to the Wifi Sync App?

Portable Devices / Re: Syncing to Android WITHOUT Ratings?

Since the rating is exchanged with GMMP using tags, you can disable reverse sync, but Sync without the rating being reflected from the MB side is not possible regardless of whether it is Wired or Wifi.
Please try changing only the rating of the Music file that is already on the device and then Sync. The Music file should appear in the Sync target file.

I have finally upgraded my device to Android 15.
I'm thinking of releasing the next beta version with only changes to the screen, rather than adding or improving functions.
The initial settings screen and error log screen can be done without connecting to MusicBee, so I've already finished improving them using an emulator.
I'm thinking of applying the same improvements to the remaining screens, and then releasing the beta version after checking it on Android 12, 14, and 15 devices.

Version 2.8.0, which supports the screen layout of Android 15, has been officially released.
This is the official version, not the beta version. I made this decision because there are more Android 15 users than I expected.
I have tested the display on Android 12, 14 and 15.
I think this will clear up the error log problem and the Sync button problem for Android 15 users.
I have confirmed this on both the 3-button navigation and gesture navigation.

Version 2.7.19 is now available in β release.
The changes are the replacement of ProgressDialog, which was used in two places: the registration process of all files to the MediaStore and the deletion of all playlists.
With this substitution, both processes can now be canceled, but there is no guarantee of operation by quitting in the middle of registration or deletion.
Cancellation does not destroy the file.

The ProgressDialog is deprecated and the reason for this is that it is a modal dialog.
This update brings the App closer to Google's regulation.

Hi,

I'm not sure if I should start a new thread for this but I'm unable to sync playlists to my Fiio M11S.

Its reporting the following in the WiFi sync app:

Any idea what might be wrong?

TIA
What versions are you using for MusicBee and MusicBee Wifi Sync app?
Also, please send me a screenshot of the device settings for MusicBee.
