Questions / Run 2 commands with one tool in one click?
« on: November 27, 2024, 10:17:32 PM »
Hi,

How can I run 2 commands with one tool in one click?

For example:

Tool name: Tool1
Application path: C:\Tool1.exe
Parameters: "C:\program1.exe" -paramenters && "C:\program2.exe" - parameters

I would like MusicBee to first run: C:\Tool1.exe "C:\program1.exe" -paramenters, then: C:\Tool1.exe "C:\program2.exe" - parameters, all in the same operation when I run Tool1 on a selected track. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Bug Reports / Re: 8 channel tracks do not properly play

As a temp solution, you can use foobar2000 to convert the 8ch tracks to stereo by using the "Downmix channels to stereo" DSP when converting. Then MusicBee will play the previous 8ch now 2ch tracks correctly with WASAP (Shared)

MusicBee Wishlist / RSS feed for MusicBee Patches
« on: October 20, 2024, 11:58:35 AM »
Hi, it would be nice if an RSS feed could be made for https://getmusicbee.com/patches/ to keep up to date with new patches when available, thanks  :)

If I understand correctly, you simply want to move the MB library (settings, etc.) only, correct? If so, Preferences > Library > Move Library

Thanks for the suggestion, I saw this option, but wasn't sure if it would also move all music files as it says "...and any sub-music folders" in the explorer pop-up window when clicking "Move Library", so to be sure I just didn't use it. Some clarification on this option would be appreciated

I dont know why it was freezing. I have decided not to attempt default values and this version should work
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip

Thanks for this, turns out it was freezing because I was not giving MusicBee enough time to fully rescan the library and display the "These tracks are missing" window before using the Relink Music File Paths tool, so this issue is resolved now.

You say you want to "move the library folder."  Relink Music File Paths is not a way to move files or folders.  It is a way to let MB know that files it expects to find in one place have already been moved to another place.

Have you already moved the files?

If not, you'll want to use MB's file organization tools to move the files to where you want them to be.  That way there's no discrepancy and no need to relink the music file paths.

Thanks for the reply, I've edited my post as regardless of the library folder path names, MusicBee locks up when clicking "Relink Music File Paths".

Yes, I need this as when I move and rename my library folder (data & settings only) from "D:\Music\MB Library" to "E:\MusicBee\MusicBee Library" (the music files staying in the same directory (D:\Music\Music), not moving), MusicBee changes the "root" location of where it expects the music files to be from "D:\Music\Music" to "E:\Music\Music\".

This is how my MusicBee is setup right now:

D:\Music\MB Library (library folder, data & settings only - what I want to move to and rename to "E:\MusicBee\MusicBee Library")
D:\Music\Music (all music files)

Have you already moved the files?

I'm using duplicates of my library folder to try and achieve what I want atm

These tools appear to be for music files. To be clear, I'm only wanting to move my library folder (data & settings only), the the music file folder is staying where it is

Hi,

Context: I want to only move the library folder to a new drive (from D:\ to E:\), while also changing the path names that lead to the library folder from "D:\Music\MB Library" to "E:\MusicBee\MusicBee Library". The music files are staying in the same location.

When I do what I mentioned in the context above, MusicBee now assumes that the path to all the music files is "E:\MusicBee\Music\[FOLDERNAME]\[MUSICFILENAME]"

MusicBee becomes unresponsive everytime I want to relink music file paths when I click "Relink Music File Paths" to point it towards the same folder it looked at before changing the library folder path names & location.

Any help to resolve this would be much appreciated

Thank you

Have you tried using DirectSound as the output choice?

https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=35548.msg204001#msg204001

Hi, yes I have and unfortunately it's the same result.

Why can't MusicBee correctly play multi channel audio in WASAPI (Shared) mode when other players such as MPC-HC and foobar2000 can?

Thanks

To pre-empt some questions:

* What output mode are you using?
* What format are the files in?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

1) Output mode is WASAPI (Shared)
2) Files are in WAV and FLAC (WAV originally, converted to FLAC, tried both)

It may also help if you can upload one of the problem files somewhere.

Also, see if this is relevant:

https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=35548.msg194413#msg194413

After reading the thread you linked I tried WASAPI (Exclusive) and that does allow to play them correctly (thank you!), but this results in not being able to use the audio for anything else whilst MusicBee is playing which is not what I want.

foobar2000 can play multichannel audio in non-exclusive mode, why wouldn't MusicBee be able to do the same?

I am guessing the [Home] key on your keyboard should do that?

Yes exactly, thanks!  :D

MusicBee Wishlist / Keyboard shortcut to go to the top of track list
« on: October 24, 2023, 08:15:00 PM »
Hi, this is a request for a keyboard shortcut to navigate to the top of the track list instantly.

I often alternate between playlists and my entire track library which I sort by most played to least played, and I have tomanually scroll all the way to the top everytime.

Thanks

Bug Reports / 8 channel tracks do not properly play

8 channel tracks do not properly play in MusicBee.

At first I thought it was an issue with my pc but playing the same couple of 8 channel tracks I have in foobar confirmed this is an issue with MusicBee.

It's as if only 2 channels are played out of the 8. I've had a look in the settings but nothing in them seem to be able to fix this.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
