It would even be nice if this is not a propertie of the player but tied to the specific audio device.

That would be heaven  ::)

Assuming you are running Win7 or 10:

1) Right-click on volume control icon in the system tray, select playback devices.

2) Right-click on your DAC, select Properties.

3) Select the Advanced tab. Set your preferred sample rate and bit depth under Default Format.

Does that resolve the issue for you?

Thank you CritterMan for the comment, but I don't think you understood the post .

This is the Wishlist topic, so we are not reporting an issue.

Also, the steps you are providing us just help setting a default output to the DAC, blindingly re-sampling all audio into the desired output, which is essentially the same feature that MusicBee has already incorporated.

What I was proposing here, is an option for MusicBee to smartly re-sample the audio depending on it's original format.

That way we can avoid up-sampling and re-sampling of files that are already in a desired sample rate in the first place.

+1 for more control over sample rates. For example to be able to resample 44.1kHz files but leave native 48kHz and 96kHz files alone etc.

Glad to know I'm not alone  ::)

Bumping this up Steve   :-X

MusicBee Wishlist / Disable "Wave bar" double click shortcut
« on: June 01, 2014, 10:45:13 PM »
Sometimes I'm a bit harsh with the seek of the song and the player assumes I doubled clicked, so then it clears all my filters in the music pane.
Its a minor thing, but it annoys me every time it happens, and as it is a short-cut I never actually use, I would like to disable it if possible to avoid any problem whatsoever.
Can this be done with the actual build? I couldn't find the option anywhere..  ???

So... today I had the same great idea, and had to check if I've already had posted it. And it indeed seems I did  :P

Just to explain my current situation, I've got a DAC that when it gets 96 kHz it cuts off Sub Woofer signal (it is like that by design, as the manual states). I like HD sound, but personally I think that trading the SW for it is not worth it, so when playing music there I'd like to have my 96 kHz files resampled to 48 kHz (which I can already do with the present option and sounds great) but that also up-samples my 41 kHz to 48 kHz when they come up, which is not ideal as I understand.

what do you think Steven? is it a good idea to implement? Or is there a work around I'm missing here?

MusicBee Wishlist / Sample Rate limit

"Sample Rate limit" option could be useful, just like the already present "limit output bit depth", as I use portable MusicBee with different DACs and the same music library, where not all rates are always supported.
Just re-sampling every single file with the current "Re-sample to" option may also re-sample supported sample rates (by the DAC used at the moment) or even lower sample rates than the chosen one, and that is just overkill.
Thanks for the support! It's been almost a year using MusicBee now, and I'm loving every single minute spent with it  :)

Title self explanatory. It would be really helpful to speed up lyric loading times of tracks already played by making a backup of them the very first time.
