Bug Reports / 2-way synchronisation fields missing
« on: August 05, 2019, 04:24:55 PM »
So, there was no statement on my original thread, so I'm reporting this as a bug(?)

https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=29241.0

The 2-way synchronisation fields are missing from the sync tab of my ipod classic. The entries in the config xml get removed when I try an older config. Is this intentional?

Portable Devices / Re: iPod 2 way synchronisation

It worked like a charm in 3.2.6902
The fields also showed up

Old iDevices with an old software installed by an old iTunes have always worked for me

The new version just seems to be missing those fields in the UI

Hey, since one of the latest updates, MusicBee does not support 2 way synchronization anymore. The field is not checkable anymore
Now I can't sync play counts. Is there a reason for this?

Can someone help out?

I'm using version 3.3.7115

Bug Reports / Auto-DJ playlist bug
« on: February 19, 2019, 06:12:36 PM »
Version: 3.3.6904

So I have this weird Auto-DJ playlist bug which is a little bit more complicated to describe, but hopefully reproducable:

See: https://imgur.com/1dwwJIX

So I have this auto-playlist with songs I haven't played. It's configured to include all songs of a specific album artist and a play count of 0.
After a song is played, it disappears from the list.

I also have my Auto-DJ setup to use songs from this playlist and to choose songs randomly by title. It's initial size is 15 and it will be extended by 5 titles.

When I select the last or the second-to last song from the playlist and the current playlist is generated and populated with songs from the Auto-DJ, the two last songs are mirrored. So it's not really random, I guess.

Hi,

I have an auto-playlist. The sources are two different playlists.
Some tracks are in both lists and I want to filter them in my new playlist.

Here is the catch:
I do not want to filter tracks from different albums, I only want to filter the exact same file.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Bug Reports / Re: Track number not showing up
« on: September 30, 2018, 02:22:57 PM »
I'm experiencing this bug again in 3.2.6827

Rescan files has not helped. My files have ID3v1, ID3v2 and APEv2 tags and the track numbers for the single-digit tracks do not show up.

MusicBee Wishlist / CTRL+Shift in text fields
« on: September 27, 2018, 04:26:43 PM »
Is it possible to support CTRL-Shift in the search window to delete whole words like expected.

When I try that combination in text fields, I get another character, which I tried to copy-paste in between the parentheses "".
Or is that possibly an OS thing?

Running on Windows 10 Pro 64bit (10.0, Build 17134)

Questions / Smarter sorting algorithm for albums?
« on: August 26, 2018, 12:42:37 AM »
The sorting algorithm for albums puts 10 after 1 and before 2.

I get that there's probably a string comparison in play.

Before I post that to the wishlist: Is there a possibily to tamper with the sorting order in a specific column?

worked like a charm, thanks!

So I have a couple of auto-playlists with the following settings:

music track source: *another playlist*
*no rules*
limit to: 2 GB selected by: random
shuffle: do not shuffle
select by: track

They differ in the limitation: 1 GB / 2 GB / 10 GB
And the "select by" option (either "track" or "album")

What seems of is that the track selection in all thoses playlists seem to come from the same 7-10 albums. There is no true randomness anymore.

I made a screenshot of an example playlist: https://imgur.com/a/127ar

As you can see, the second album is always "Tantrance 3". That's not really random, because there is a big selection of albums and tracks left, but it always comes to this or similar albums.

Or did you do something wrong with my playlist?

Edit: This came to be after the update to 3.2.6672

Questions / Re: Where does the "Last Played" date come from?

Or could it be, that the "Last played" field was synchronized from last.fm?

Questions / Where does the "Last Played" date come from?
« on: October 15, 2017, 06:02:52 PM »
I started a new library this in May 2017. Some songs I've never played in MusicBee have a "Last Played" date going back to 2011.
I imported some songs from iTunes where I played them, I guess. Supposedly on the specific date.

Is this field saved in the file in some tag? I thought this date is only saved in the library.
If it's saved in the file, is there a way to edit it?

Ok. Can I challenge that design?

That would mean if have I have a single song in my library, whose track count says "2 of 20" the artwork would always show up? That seems rather odd. I would have guessed such functionality has to be based on the number of songs actually present, not what a tag says.

Maybe I'm not seeing the benefits of the other behaviour?

Yes, I would like to have the covers with more than x titles.

This is actually how iTunes does it (not that I need to have it like iTunes). But look at that screenshot:
https://imgur.com/S2FJxGd

It is a playlist with the exact view I want to achieve minus the waste of space the covers take up for albums with less than 4 or 5 tracks.
But since I have all tracks of the albums in the library they just won't disappar
