MusicBee Wishlist / Auto-fit Pics for Album/Artist Cover Art...
« on: September 12, 2016, 11:36:47 PM »

I'm not sure if this has been wished before, or if MusicBee will even do it now, but as someone who enjoys putting in his personal choice of pics for album and artist cover art I thought it might be nice if you could resize automatically the artwork to fit the square it's placed in.  Some of my pics of choice fit square making for a nice tiled look.  But others are to vertical or to horizontal.  I wish you could check off a selection that would stretch them to fit the square, the same way you can have Windows stretch the pic to fill your entire wallpaper.

It'd have to be a selection however as some pics look good having it done and others don't...

Questions / Re: MusicBee Automatically Downloading Artist and Album Pics?

Steven,

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it and will look into what you had to say.  Also, just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed MusicBee, first 2.0 and now even more so 3.0.  Can't believe all the work that you've put into this thing.  Coming off ITunes, have to say that it was really nice to find such a capable alternative...

Questions / MusicBee Automatically Downloading Artist and Album Pics?
« on: September 11, 2016, 08:06:34 PM »
Okay, maybe it's my imagination but I don't think it is.  MusicBee seems to be downloading continuously Artist and Album pics and replacing those which I've selected myself.  Sometimes I don't like the pics that come along as tags and I select my own.  But it seems that MusicBee replaces them as I notice things have changed when I might scroll through my library.

It's not the end of the world, but it sure is annoying.  Is there a way to turn this off?  I've dug through the menus but when I've changed things in the past is usually when things begin to go badly for me...  Leave well enough alone as they say...

So no sooner do I start using the older version of MusicBee then we move onto the newest latest version.  It seems much easier to work with and much more pleasing to the eye.  It's hard to believe that its creation is due to one guy in his spare time.  My tip of the hat...

But I digress.  I've got one stubborn album that seems to be in two places at the same time.  I added some files to my library and because of the number involved I figured I'd just have MusicBee rescan the library as opposed to adding the artists one by one.  That was my mistake, this has happened before but I can't remember how I fixed it as I fumbled through it the first time.  But I have one album by one particular artist that is listed along with the other three albums she's done and is also listed as an "Unknown" at the beginning.  I've checked the tags and the Song Title, Album Title and Artist are all filled in appropriately so how can it be in two places?  When I delete the Unknown it'll delete where it appears in both places.

Questions / "Empty" and Album Number in Artists Column?
« on: August 03, 2016, 01:18:06 AM »
I've been using the new 3.0.5995 for a week or so now, I might be late to the version but I'm really enjoying it over the previous 2.0 version.  This version is much more graphical upfront and easier to use.

But I digress.  I've got two columns in the center, one showing artists complete with thumbnails and the larger one showing individual albums - whether from A-Z or however many might be by the particular artist that you select.  At the top of the Artist column is an item entitled "Empty" and then an album count (four albums).  I've selected it and it shows no albums for that selection.  I seem to have all my music so I've tried to get rid of it but to no avail.  It might be a stupid question but would someone please tell me what it is exactly and how to get rid of it?  Or if it is four albums in need of some tagging or something how would I go about getting them into their proper places?

Thanks,

Is there a way to get MusicBee to check for updates and/or manually have it check for updates?  I found the check box that if checked it will look for an update when you open MusicBee.  I closed and then opened MusicBee but said no to the update as I was trying to familiarize myself with the interface.  When I closed MusicBee and then opened it again it is no longer showing the update as being available.  I've unchecked and checked the box and nothing.  Will it wait until the update comes around again or something?

Is there a way to get it to manually look for any updates?

I'm still trying to learn MusicBee, which I want to learn and use but it's got a steep learning curve.  So while tweaking the layout I accidentally made go away the Configure Layout button next to the Search button.  The one that toggles between all the different views of the main panel - simple text listings, shows album artworks and so forth - and also controls the display functions of the left and right side panels.  Well after digging around I finally somehow got it back but I don't know how exactly.  I'm hoping someone can tell me where I can find the control that displays or doesn't this multi-function button so should I accidentally delete it again I can get it back without having to root around for like an hour...

Questions / Re: Artist / Band Information and Picture Slideshow
« on: July 20, 2016, 11:26:57 PM »
Yeah I think that's the panel I remember, thanks Psychoadept as I appreciate it.  However if it'll display artist, album and track information along with the details for the track in the panel at the bottom in the tab Details, is there a way to remove the Track Information panel that seems to default to the right?  I've removed the panel that shows the self-generated playlist, but the Track Information panel seems determined to stay - whether it's displayed on the left or right - which seems a little redundant...

Questions / Artist / Band Information and Picture Slideshow
« on: July 20, 2016, 10:09:16 PM »
I'm hoping that someone can answer a question for me.  At one time I had MusicBee and when I used it to play a track it would show in a window at the bottom information about the artist and/or their band.  Also pictures of the artist and/or band would cycle through on like a slideshow.  I got frustrated with MusicBee and left but have since returned and am trying again to master it, it's actually going pretty well.  But I'd like to know how I can restore that window at the bottom with artist and/or band information?  It's not the end of the world if it isn't or is no longer possible, but I enjoyed reading the bios...

I've found that in the panel in the lower right corner, at least that's where I stuck it, for track information if I click on the artist or album it'll display information in the main panel, but the panel I was referring to initially would do it automatically...
