MusicBee Wishlist / Duplicates manager files Open on Disk
« on: September 05, 2019, 09:20:31 AM »
It would be incredibly helpful to make the Duplicates manager fully able to manage files, by allowing me to double-click to locate each file on disk, or to use the shortcut for locating it on disk, like in the main panel.

If there is a way to embed the video, please let me know.

3
In the Main Panel of the Album Cover view mode, the Rating field will randomly change its rating to .5 star when the cursor hovers over the rating.

4
A nice modification of the Auto-calculate Album rating feature would be to only do this if the Album doesn't already have it explicitly set.

Questions / Re: How to completely remove a wrong track rating?
« on: April 07, 2018, 09:30:48 AM »
I noticed the option to right click and select Rating Track and set to Unrated is only available when a single track is selected. I needed to do this for multiple tracks. Think this is pretty simple of a thing to add.

General Discussions / Thanks!
« on: February 18, 2017, 08:08:07 PM »
I've never made a thank-you post on any forum before. I really appreciate all the hard work and excellent design put into MusicBee and wanted to thank the devs and community abundantly for making this software what it is.

I have tried many many music libraries and the only other one that came close to the sheer quality and depth of features and presentability of MusicBee is Winamp, but Winamp is undergoing restructuring of the brand identity and the software is being gutted and rewritten, from what I last heard.

I once had a dream to be a contributor to open-source and community-sourced media projects but I never could figure out how to use version control software, and the programming industry rapidly advanced, making any knowledge I had of IDEs and languages obsolete by the next year. I liked to memorize all intricate details of a language so I could plan an entire program out in my mind before I started writing, and this was difficult to do when I didn't know the nuances of every new language that came along. It became a battle I couldn't keep up with. However, I was always aware of how programs, and their interfaces, could be designed and was always ahead of the learning curve and watching the programs catch up to modern ideals of design.

Media management interfaces have always been tricky to design, but to the best of my knowledge, MusicBee accomplishes the best of both simplicity and complexity.

Let's just hope Adobe doesn't start trying to make slow buggy media managers with good interfaces!

Bug Reports / Album Art lookup/embed causes computer to black-screen
« on: February 09, 2016, 11:38:20 PM »
First, MB reported twice that it was unable to find album art for an album, after successfully finding it for a single song in the same album. Then on the third try, it found the album art. I had it write the image to the music file (FLAC) only. It was successful on the individual song first attempted, but on trying to process the album as a whole, it black-screened my system, and hijacked the app focus, preventing me from using other apps. The Alt-tab menu, task bar, and Ctrl-Alt-Del menu work, however, alt-tabbing to another app refuses to show the app on top of the black screen, and the task manager, when launched, shows up under the black screen as well.

Happy hunting.
