I read both of your descriptions as occurring in the same manner.
That a floating window in MusicBee does not activate the main window and bring it from the background into the foreground.

Hmmm.... So, I think the feature doesn't cause following problem.
When MB starts the floating window is displayed, but any click elsewhere in the GUI will immediately hide it behind the interface, which was not the case in 3.5.8909.  If the main 3.6 GUI is minimized after this happens, the floating window appears open and active on the desktop--IOW, it gets "hid" instead of minimized.

@Steven
To add this feature "That a floating window in MusicBee does not activate the main window and bring it from the background into the foreground." is possible?

I'm assuming the behavior you are requesting is to be able to minimize/restore the floating window independently of the main GUI, so that you could choose to minimize the main GUI while keeping the floating window open.

The behavior I requested is "Don't make main window foreground when operating floating window", so "minimize/restore" is not related.

I mentioned in that topic, "The desired behavior would be that the floating window stays open until deliberately minimized, no matter what is done elsewhere in MusicBee.  That is the concept of being de-linked it would seem to me"---if that could be successfully accomplished without causing the floating window to auto-hide behind the main open GUI at any action, this would also give you the option of working with the floating window open while the main GUI is minimized.  In which case, +1 to your request.

I'm not so familiar with English and I may misunderstand but it seems a different thing from I meant. Maybe, "active" and "be foreground" is a little different behavior?
If so, I modify request: "Main window doesn't become foreground when operating floating window".

This causes problem and v3.6 doesn't  change this behavior as following: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=41257.0

I notced following issue is reverted on the latest 3.6 version, `MusicBee.exe` file modified time is 2024/07/15 , previous file which modified time is  2024/05/13 works for this issue.
18. Disconnected the main and floating windows so they are independent

I noticed at least my request is fulfilled in https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip , thank you.
But don't you publish the progress of the beta version?

Even applied 3.5 patch as following:
I use only the latest 3.6 version now, in Portable form.  I would encourage others to update.

BTW: How to update to MusicBee Portable 3.6, in the current absence of complete 3.6 install packages:

1.  If you aren't already using the Portable version of MB 3.5, get it and install using the instructions here:
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=40059.0

2  Because of various file updates contained within (BASS libraries, etc.) that are not yet present in the 3.6 patch file referred to in step #3, download the latest 3.5 update patch at https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip and extract it into your Portable version's main folder, allowing it to overwrite any existing files of the same name.

3.  Now download the MusicBee 3.6 patch from https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip , and extract it into your Portable folder, allowing it to overwrite existing files of the same name.

4.  After completing step #3, you are now running the latest version of MusicBee 3.6 Portable.

P.S.  I added an edit to the main Portable instructions at the link in step #1, referring to this post.  If and when Steven posts official 3.6 Portable full downloads, both will be edited accordingly.

Some requests exist to set different shuffle settings for "playlists".

https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=14165.msg84739

However, I (and maybe useful for other people) want different shuffle settings, for example, music and audio book and inbox, so on.

I (and many people?) want to listen music shuffled but want listen audiobook in a sequential order.
And I want to listen music and others in inbox in a sequential order to "pick" for soundtrack.

Install plugin, install VLC, set VLC path in setting MusicBee. How enable video in MusicBee??

You need to change settings to add video files and show video files.

@Steven
Video Support is still stopped? If you have a time to support video, please add documents.   -> Video Support https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=5817

If you agree(or not), please also vote at the top of the screen.

I use floating window to perform minimal operations (play/pause, rating, etc) but it makes the main window also active and interferes with my work.
Please add an option "Main window doesn't become active when operating floating window" .

Original topic: What is the floating window for?

13
it's the user's personal preference. I do not like editing in the main panel, so I have the tag editor in a floating window.
OK, so I should request to add an option "Main window doesn't become active when operating floating window"?

14
It allows the user to continue to see whatever is in the main window while (for example) using the Tag Editor.

Hmmm, for example, if someone wants to edit a tag, they just do it in the main window? Which case is it necessary to operate in a floating window while looking at the main window?

15
If you mean the little preview window that appears when you hover over the app button in the Windows task bar,
No, floating window of "Prefences"-"Layout (1)"-"Arrange Panels..."
