Author Topic: Copying tags within the same file  (Read 1518 times)

I just started using MusicBee yesterday, so my apologies if this is something obvious that I am just missing, but I am looking for a way to bulk copy data from one tag to another. Specifically, I want to copy all the information from the 'Year' tags of my songs into a custom tag that I can then selectively modify for some tracks. I am only doing this in order to affect how my music is sorted within MusicBee, so I want this custom tag to be stored in the database only, and not written to the individual music files. Therefore I need to be able to perform this operation in MusicBee itself rather than rely on an external tool.

That's exactly what I was looking for. With very little effort I have everything exactly as I want it. Many thanks!
