CoolEdit Nostalgia 6.7

Once upon a time CoolEdit had an amazing spectral analyzer with spearate channel visualization, linear and logarithmic frequency scales. It was used as an inspiration for the current MusicBee plugin.

Features:

• single, dual and multichannel visualization
• frequncy range grid
• volume scale (in decibels)
• adjustable visualization time window and frame rate
• adjustable visualization filtering
• adjustable colors and styles
• minimum, maximum, hold and average signal statistics
• automatic settings saving and themes saving
• uses two optional rendering engines (GDI or Direct2D)
• two separate views - floating (freely resizable) and docked (fixed height)
• different transformation algorithms - FFT (MusicBee native), IIR filter bank, custom FFT
• additional tools - spectrogram printer, live waveform, peak meter, level histogram, phase meter and phase histogram

Changes for version 6.7:

• optimized drawing cycle when checking settings
• now if raw api is available, enables it on first startup
• fixed dsp and raw bridges crash if no c++ redist is installed on Windows 11
• redesigned hold functionality; added measurement capabilities; hold pauses all tools too
• adjustments to cursor tooltip style, added spectrogram tooltip
• added right-click context menu on the quick buttons
• added phase meter & phase histogram tools; both are zoomable; support for all channel configurations
• "Show Raw Data" option works for all tools that have time based smoothing
• added bottom-right clickable notification when analyzer in zoom selection or hold mode
• small cosmetic fixes and alignments

Note1: To install just copy these files to the "Plugins" folder:

• mb_CoolEditNostalgia.dll (must copy - GDI rendering, docked, height configurable version)

• mb_CoolEditNostalgia_floating.dll (optional - adds floating resizable version)

• NostalgiaD2D.dll (optional - enables Direct2D rendering)

• d2dlib32.dll (optional - enables Direct2D rendering)

• dsp_nostalgia.dll (optional - DSP API alternative samples source)

• mb_nostalgia.dll (optional - RawAPI alternative samples source - for MusicBee 3.6)

Note2: To remove the plugin remove the above mentioned dlls, and optionally the setting file(s) + themes folder:

• \AppData\CoolEdit Nostalgia (docked).ini
• \AppData\CoolEdit Nostalgia (floating).ini
• \AppData\CoolEdit Nostalgia Themes\
