would this be as easy as creating a "Banned" folder in app data with a "NeverShowAgain.xml"?
the xml containing a list of the url's to check against
Code
<picture>http://www.somepicturesite.com/images/not_so_tasteful_Artist_pic.jpg</picture>

or am I over-simplifying the task?

And then we could exchange our tasteless.xmls :)

i will do this request but when i am ready to do it.

@ Steven
I'm well aware off that
@Bee-liever - you make a very convincing case for this feature!

But my question was a legitimate query, and I tried to word it so it wouldn't look as though I was hounding you on this.
If it wasn't a simple task and was going to take a lot of time, I would make a library filter to hide those artists when using MB in a public place.  If you said it was fairly easy, I'd assume it would get done sooner rather than later, and I'd wait.

I'm really sick and tired of the attitude and I've had enough. You can remove me as a moderator and stick your MusicBee where the sun definitely don't shine.

Huh. That escalated strangely and quickly, for no apparent reason.  :-\

Anyhoo...

As long as the sun is still rising in the east and until something is implemented in MusicBee, I'd guess that adding dodgy entries to System32\drivers\etc\hosts would have a similar effect.
Bee excellent to each other...

I made a special minimun config for proxomitron.
Unzip and run it: http://www.mediafire.com/download/6dv4btgr5s6rbxo/prox.zip

For any software where you want to block some urls, set the proxy as localhost at the 8080 port

For MB, go to preferences, internet. Tick server and leave username and password blank

If prefer another port change it there, and go to Proxomitron\Configure\HTTP\Proxomitron's proxy port number

Restart MB, restart proxomitron if you changed the default port.

And that's all, now any time you see a pic you don't like. Go to http://127.0.0.1:9235/.pinfo/urls/ from your favourite browser, localize the pic you don't like and add it to the list redirections.

The redirections list is prepared for doing more complex things, but for this area is sufficient adding $SET(\1=http://local.ptron/removed.png) after the url you want to block.

For editing redirections list just use notepad or from proxomitron, right click in tray icon\edit list\redirections

Yep, complex and not very user friendly, and trust me, this is one of the easiest things in proxomitron... But nothing more can be done for this program as code got lost.

I blocked the image in http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/46/nevershowagain.jpg/ as an example

The removed.png can be changed por any other like this one http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120614232753/meme/es/images/thumb/e/ed/IUGH-meme.jpg/500px-IUGH-meme.jpg  just save it as removed.png in the html folder of proxomitron

@Bee-liever: Don't feel pressed to use it, it hasn't been real work for me, just deleted all the other filters i use

@Bee-liever: Just don't try to involve too much as sadly at the end this is the project of only one person.
You, Jistme, Redwing, me... I'm not still here only for MusicBee.

@Orb: For not freewares i would try Ad-Muncher, it was my favourite long time ago and used to recommend it before adblock plus appeared. Anyway Ad-muncher still could be the best solution http://www.admuncher.com/download.shtml

Hello,

I'd like to ask a question. We're talking about banning pictures on the Now Playing area, but do these actions apply to the pictures we see on the theater mode? I've noticed there's a subfolder called ArtistCache inside another folder called Artwork, and I always believed it contained the pictures displayed on the theater mode, and only there, so that, if we don't have internet connection in a particular place, this means we can still have the pictures of the artists.

If this is case, then I'd like to confirm that the pictures of the artists displayed on the Now Playing area are never downloaded in this folder or in any folder, which would explain this banning of web addresses.

Thanks!
