Hi there!

Does anyone know websites where you can select artists and then get informed by E-Mail (or RSS-feed) when a new album is out or soon is going to be released?
And it should really be artist-specific, so you just get the infos you want.

There's a german ticket-selling-service which does exacty that, but for live appearances of selected artists (http://www.eventim.de).
The amount of selectable artists is quite extensive (reaching a lot of less known interprets, too).

As I'm not into mainstream music I'd be interested in services which also cover a wide range of those less known artists.

I appreciate any suggestions...

Not sure if you use it but in the side of MB is a tab under Internet-> Services that says Upcoming Releases which does pretty much what you want. You can leave it to everyone or you can restrict it to artists in your library.

If you need something more specific, maybe somebody can recommend a website.

Most artists have specific mailing lists, don't they? You can usually just enter your email on their site and get updates on the bands. I guess it depends on the artist though.

Yes, I use that feature and I like it a lot but I have to look up there for myself (what I don't do very periodical, I have to admit - hence the request for other sources). I'd prefer to get notified instead.

I also thought about subscribing to newsletters but it could be quite a challenge to collect all the corresponding websites. And I'm afraid a lot of the "smaller" artists don't provide that service :(

But thank you so far. And further recommendations are welcome..

I'm using both services now, it works just perfect - thanks again.

To share another one here: http://www.albumreminder.com/
Just stumbled upon that on lifehacker (http://lifehacker.com/5936151/how-to-get-automated-alerts-when-your-favorite-artists-release-new-work).

I'll give it a try as well, I guess...
