My initial scan of folders including .M3Us gave no playlist on the media tree. I added some more .M3Us and rescanned - again none were added. MB said "no new files found". MB File, Open file or URL works fine on these .M3Us.

Here's a sample:
Code
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:183, Francisco Canaro (Quinteto Don Pancho) - Viento en popa
08427328130905\1\1.wma
#EXTINF:149, Francisco Canaro (Quinteto Don Pancho) - Champagne tango
08427328130905\1\6.wma

and from a sub-folder:

Code
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:183, Francisco Canaro (Quinteto Don Pancho) - Viento en popa
..\08427328130905\1\1.wma
#EXTINF:149, Francisco Canaro (Quinteto Don Pancho) - Champagne tango
..\08427328130905\1\6.wma

This on MB 2.,0 Final, Win 7 Pro 64-bit.

When you open the dialog using File > Rescan/Add Files, is "include playlists" checked?

it appears the code for adding a playlist was removed for v2.0

edit:
actually it is importing the playlists but simply not refreshing the left sidebar. If you press F5 afterwards or restart does the playlist appear?
it wont import the files in the playlist to the library for some scenarios so i will fix that

No.

These tracks are already imported into the library.

If anyone has succeeded in getting 2.0 Final Rescan to add a .M3U to the library, I would be gratfeul to know.

Any idea when a fix will be available for this? I've tried the suggestions in this thread and my m3u playlists still will not import. Thanks.

I know this was supposed to be fixed, but I can't seem to get it to import playlists either.   File > Rescan/Add Files with "include playlists" checked does not work for me.  The only way I can do it is to open the m3u file and then save the Now Playing List to a playlist.  Am I missing something?  Thanks so much.

EDIT:  I got it to work. The only way to import an m3u playlist into MB was to change the default Playlist type in MB Library settings to m3u in order for MB to import it.  (see http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=13011.msg86224#msg86224)

And for what it is worth, I still had to hit F5 to get it to show up in the left sidebar.  Seems like it might still be a bug?

I.e. http://i.imgur.com/1wIlrKG.png . Thanks! Worked fine here.

FWIW, no such problem here on V2.4.5404.

BTW, anyone wanting a conventional menu bar can get it thus: http://i.imgur.com/vx3EKpG.png

Thanks for the picture.  That will be helpful to the next dummy like me.  ;)

Weird. I'm running 2.5.5447.  I wonder if it is a regression?

Thanks. I'm conservative and prefer to minimise frequency of updates by sticking with the current releases.
