Help wanted!

Here's a list of pages that could use filling in: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Under_Construction

I suggest leaving the Under Construction template in place until a page is almost done.  Don't be afraid to make a mess - cleaning and streamlining is the part I like best, anyway.

Also, we're getting to the point that it's not worth keeping a list of pages.  Swing over and check things out.  Still definitely a work in progress, but it's getting to have some meaningful content.

I was playing around with trying to mark the default settings in a better way than just plain text.  I could use some feedback - it's implemented on this page right now: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/General_Preferences#File_Types

Thanks!

Good job!

Two suggestions:

1. How about using different colors for headings and body text? A little hard to read.

2. Why didn't you use a screenshot with all default settings of normal install version? Then you didn't have to describe them in text.

I did use a screenshot with all default settings (for portable).   I thought some folks might find it helpful to know the defaults without having to look at the image (I know a number of people who use screen readers, for example).

I will fiddle with the headings - I agree that they don't stand out enough.  Maybe making them pure white would help.

Edit: Fiddling accomplished.  I toned down the green and tinted the names of the settings blue.  Let me know what you think.

Thanks to whoever stickied this!

I'm still working on Preferences:

http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Preferences

There's also a page on reporting bugs, including a list of known bugs/issues that can't or won't be addressed any time soon.  Please feel free to add to it.

Now that I'm getting into layout settings (see Track Detail View page, for instance), more screenshots would be really useful.  If I posted a list of needed screenshots, would you all be willing to provide some?  They don't need to be marked up, and I think it's fine if there are different skins involved.  You could add them directly or post them here and I could add them.

For instance, right now it would be helpful to have shots of:

*Track Details view with Group By headers
*Album and Tracks with only some tracks for each album showing

Big thanks to tom_dl for creating our Playlists page!

http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Playlists

Between the two of us, we've also managed to get the main layout page into usable form (though subpages still need work):

Whew!  I have at long last completed the pages for the sidebars:

http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Left_Sidebar
http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Right_Sidebar

Let me know if I overlooked anything major.

The next item on my agenda is making sure that all the old online help stuff that hasn't been covered yet is copied and formatted, and then to polish up the Preferences pages.  I think at that point it'll be officially ready for linking.

If anyone wants to tackle the new Compact Player, be my guest:

Hi

I think a More help > Dialogs page should be added, to include dialog references in the same way as Menus.

Is it possible to have some kind of tag to mark sentences requiring verification?

I've created one.  Insert this code at the end of a questionable sentence: {{?}}

Rather than all dialogs, how about a Tools menu?

Added: There is a Dialogs category that I think I've added everything on the wiki so far to.

http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Dialogs

Did you do the Sorting/Grouping preferences?  Nice work!

Okay, all online help files have been copied over and properly formatted, with appropriate screenshots.  In related news, Preferences are also basically complete.  Huzzah!
