Steven...

Would you please consider adding a tag handling preference to ignore prefixes when sorting by track titles and by album titles?  I envision this as similar to what you currently have when sorting artists.

Thanks.

EDIT:
And if you're willing to take that step, please include the ability to ignore punctuation when sorting.  In particular on title tags.  Such as in a track call (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, or 'Till The Morning Comes.

Thanks again.

i'll look at this for the next update but one thing - could you not just include the punctuation marks you want to exclude in the prefix list? Its just a comma separated list eg.
The, '

Prefix list???
Do you mean the field called "ignore prefixes" in the Tag Preferences window under "tag handling"?
I thought that was invoked only when sorting artists.

it is currently and i will also include title and album. I meant your second request to also ignore punctuation marks. You can just add them to the list already

Steven...

Using 1.2.3697.24434.

Either I'm doing it wrong, or it isn't working.
In the 'tag handling' section of the tags preferences window, I have "ignore prefixes:" checked and in the field I have entered:
The, (, ',
In the 'custom tags' section I have CUSTOM 1 as Sort Artist /Artist Sort-Order, CUSTOM 2 as Sort Tittle/Title Sort-Order, and CUSTOM 3 as Sort Album/Album-Sort Order.
I have a track with the title tag "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"
I have had edited the Title Sort-Order tag to be "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" which kept the track sorted as if the "(" was still there.  I also tagged it with the Title Sort-Order to be "Satisfaction" with the same results.
I use the same procedure for getting rid of the prefix "The" in "The Rolling Stones" and the artist sorts with the Rs and not the Ts.  I figured this is how the Title sort would work.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.
