Author Topic: unusual sorting of diacretic marks in MusicBee  (Read 4970 times)

MusicBee sorts characters with diacretic marks in a way that differs from most other software (including Windows).
It seems to place them always at the end of the alphabet.

So instead of:

Gabriel
Gerard
Gérard
Giuseppe
Gustav

MusicBee will list:

Gabriel
Gerard
Giuseppe
Gustav
Gérard

Which is quite confusing sometimes.

I wish, I wish, I wish....  ;)

Sure?

I really have this, and ticking/unticking makes no difference:
(it does in search, but not in sorting)

its supported for sorting in the main panel. By the looks of the screenshot you are showing the Track Browser

Ok,

Would it help if I wished it would work the same in Track Browser?

Not sure where this has left us.

Do you agree diacretics should sort the same way in Track Browser?

i can confirm that if your regional language setting is 'en' then diacritic insenstive sorting is not done in the track browser.
if its not 'en' (which i would have thought would be the case for you), it should be working. So i will need to investigate. I will look at it but dont have a timeframe planned

Thnx.
My Windows & MusicBee are default set in English.

I understand your assumption about that being different, but the reason for my translating efforts are purely to 'give something back' in apreciation of your fantastic (free) software. I don't use Dutch myself.

i have implemented diacritic insentive sorting in the Track Browser as well now for "en" regional settings - it should already be working for non-english users
