Hi,

If MusicBee could be a streaming server like Subsonic, it might be very useful for Smart phone users.

Thanks for the info.
But, the subsonic plugin is a client-side one, and it does not make MB a server.

I have the same wish!
But seems steven only want MB to be a single client side application . once there's a preference to set socket listened port, now the server part job is left for a plugin to do , i assume. AND i don't think current API is opened enough to do so.

its not that i dont want to make MB a server, but as suggested i would prefer someone builds a plugin for it

Has anyone created a plugin yet to address this feature?  MediaMonkey 4.1 works as a UPNP/DLNA server and shows your library as a media library on Windows, etc., which is quite convenient.  However, this is really the only thing about MM that is better than MusicBee.  I really don't like it otherwise.

Thus, if MusicBee could have a built-in server, I (and many other users) would be quite happy.

Thanks for the reply.  I've been making with do with other methods meanwhile.

I have absolutely no programming experience and do not believe I am capable of creating such a plugin -- but thank you for placing your faith in me regardless  :P

I (and many other users) certainly have no need for BUILT-IN servers - when there is so much more for Steven to deal with.

+1

Not speaking for (few or many) others, I would also appreciate it a lot if this feature would become available. Either by plugin or from within MB itself.
Considering Steven explained he's not planning to do so (in the foreseeable future?), I got my hopes on somebody creating a plugin.
