I was really upset when my Windows Media Player started acting up. It got to the point I could only open it as Administrator which was a pain. In frustration I tried for a week to correct the problem.. Nada .. Then I did a search and found Music Bee. What an amazing player. It has WMP beat in so many ways. I really appreciate it and am now glad WMP stopped working as it should.

I'm going to tell everyone I have contact with about Music Bee..

Thanks Steven.. It is an amazing program.

Over the years I've tried just about every Windows music player - Itunes, WMP, MM, Winamp, Helium, Clementine, Zune, Foobar - and I'm sure that I've left some out.
None of these players allowed me to play my music as I wanted. I have my music stored in separate folders, Popular, Jazz, Showtunes, Plays, etc and  I want to randomly play music 'FROM A SPECIFIED FOLDER' and be able to change that folder as the mood takes me. Sounds simple doesn't it? And yet none of the players mentioned above implements Auto DJ in exactly that way, they nearly all require that you change your library to suit their software.

So for satisfying my seemly mundane requirement - and for all the other good stuff in the package - many, many thanks for Music Bee Steve!

You folks have really produced a great player here! I've been an unabashed MM user for about 7 years now, owing mainly to its incredible organization abilities. But it's been getting a bit buggy for me in the past year (multiple installs on multiple rigs, so it's not on my end). When I saw Music Bee mentioned at lifehacker.com, I gave it a whirl.

I've been messing with it for about four hours and I'm having a lot of difficulty finding anything MediaMonkey does that Music Bee does not (and I have the "Gold" paid version of MM). You guys even make importing winamp plugs ridiculously easy. All in all, your software just seems to run "smoother" (not a technical term) than MM has for me, in a while. What's nuts is that the whole thing is free.

I look forward to learning as much about the Bee as I know about the Monkey, so all my tasks will be second-nature. It's tough changing media players when you're as meticulous as I am about organizing a large library, but I think I'm a convert! Thanks!

Wow.

I was so sick of iTunes' organization deficiencies, that I was living in music limbo between iTunes, Mediamonkey, and Helium. I would bounce around 26,000 tracks between the three forgetting their flaws until I tried to use each one exclusively.

Then comes MusicBee with possibility to be the one. The Unified Theory of music managers. After about an hour and a half of digging into all the settings I am very impressed. I love the user interface. It looks great without getting in the way.

The fact that this program is being given away absolutely floored me. You could charge $30-$40 easily for this program. (I paid $50+ for Network Helium plus their iPhone apps, and $40 for a lifetime of Mediamonkey).

Well done guys. I'm definitely going to be buried in music for a while.  ;D

+1!

As long as I can remember, I used WinAmp for managing my music. But the more my library grew, the more I felt that it's not that easy to filter out exactly what I wanted - tracks choice as well as design. With my first iPod I switched for a (really, really...) short period of time to iTunes, finding myself in overloaded crap. But the worst thing was: iTunes kept editing my ID3-Tags, especially the Comments-Section, where I use to store my ratings. Boy, this was crazy. Anyway, I went back to WinAmp, but due to the lack of Updates and Support, I'm here now.
Loving it. Entirely.

Awesome job! In my opinion the best mediaplayer in place. I'm sure I will be here for a time :-)

So long...

I've been using MusicBee for several months now and it is by far my favorite program for listening to music. I've tried many, many different programs including iTunes, J. River's Media Jukebox, MediaMonkey, Songbird, and Winamp among others. MusicBee has great features and an active community with a great developer (thank you Steven!). I still use foobar2000 for basic editing of ID3 tags since I find it quicker/easier, but for anything else to do with my music library, MusicBee is the best!

Before I discovered MusicBee, I was using Mediamonkey like i'm sure many other users here have. Constant crashing and bugs were a daily thing in MM, which for a paid product you wouldn't expect. MusicBee beats it in every way, and it's free. I really can't believe it. Thankyou.

I became a user of MusicBee about 3 weeks ago and made a donation after only a week which shows how good MusicBee is but I thought rather me saying all the things great about what a good job Steven is doing, was to quote an email my son sent me after using it in one day…

“Started using MusicBee, and I REALLY like it! I loaded it the first time, and it didn’t look anything like how you were running it – so I had a quick play, and decided it looked exactly like MediaMonkey – almost exactly like in fact, with almost the same menu options, so I shut it down.

But then I gave it another shot a bit later, played with the settings and got it looking how I preferred – and it is quite good so far indeed! I like the fact that you can filter the library, so I’ve removed certain directories that I don’t want always in my library which is nice. I also like that you can download album art with the click of a button, and dock the mini player – MediaMonkey couldn’t do that. And add a shuffle button to the mini player, and easily customise how it looks! The library looks much better with the album art, and it seems to be pretty quick overall. I like the fact you can jump with ABCDEtc. Overall, I’m impressed – if the shuffle turns out to be decent, then I think we may have a winner.”

Not bad for one days use I’m sure you will agree.

I didn't know they made porn in this shape, but this is the best fucking porn I've found in my LIFE!  ;D

Thank you Steve for saving me from the hell I came from named iTunes.
Oh, and I am lazy which means my post ends here, though I still +1 everything else in this thread ;)

I once bought something on ebay and the seller's positive thingamajig that he left after I sent the payment was something like "If we were in prison together, I would defend your chastity against all comers. I got your back!", which I thought was hilarious.

I never really felt that depth of feeling until I started using MusicBee.

I got your back!!
