Help with embedded album art.

Hello.

I'm trying to remove all the embedded artwork from my music library.

There doesn't seem to be any way I can find to do it as a batch in MusicBee.

So I turned to mp3tag for this. There it is possible to select all the albums, right click on the album cover, choose "remove cover". This works great and there is even a function to remove the excess padding left behind in flac files. So far so good.

But here is the problem.

MusicBee still links to a non existent embedded artwork.

I rescanned the files and also went to tag1 > artwork > edit list > rescan artwork. Nothing seems to help.

What can I do?

what happens if you uncheck these 2 checkboxes and rescan artworks? (of course, check one or more other "default storage" options. try this first on a small copy of your tracks and a copy of your library. or backup all tracks)



btw, unchecking these 2 checkboxes and re-scanning artworks might be the way to bulk change artwork storage in MB. (haven't tested this right now)

Weirdly enough. I think I found something that seems to fix it. I select the tracks then tools > advanced> synchronize tags
It says no files are updated. but if I restart Musicbee after that and go back to the album art manager, it's gone.

"Reset artwork cache" may have been invoked with the last operation you tried.  Tools->Advanced>Reset Artwork Cache (NOT the same as "rescan artwork").

Well not sure what made it work but it's done now.

Though I have a couple files that freeze rescanning.
