i'm talking about the ones at the top of the library explorer ie. Adele .. Pixie Lott
I think the main panel shows Display Artist

Okay, I'm probably being stupid then but how do I view it in tag inspector then?

The display artist is not stored in the file. It is a virtual tag used only in MusicBee

it used to be a virtual tag but as-of a few months ago display artist is now saved to the music file (its only applicable for multi-artist tracks)
if the question related to using the tag inspector in general, just open the file in the tag editor and then click the tag inspector button

Oh wow, problem solved. You were right Steven, one VA album in the library had a space before the artist tag just on some songs. That's great, looks much neater now so I'll be sure to get some use out of this now. Thanks very much :D

i've added an option on the library explorer to "Show Similar Artists" so it works with any sorting/ grouping you have as long as Album Artist or Artist is part of the sorting. I've also added "Artist/ Album" as a predefined sort
If you has "Similar Artist/ Album" as the selected predefined sort, its no longer there and you will need to tick "Show Similar Artists" to enable it again
I know it would be better if it showed
Artist
....Albums
....Similar Artists
but instead it shows:

Artist
....Artist and Similar Artists
........Albums (for selected artist)

This last update gives some problems. For some reason, it includes 'Tempo' as a sorting element. So you choose Album Artist/Album as usual, and every song with something written in the 'tempo' tag appears as a new album.

does that only happen when "Show Similar Artists" is ticked?
also do you have a custom sort that includes tempo?

Everything is OK. I'm sorry. I was tweaking the custom sort pannel and I didn't realize that 'tempo' was tickled in 'grouping'  :-X

greenday1987, i noticed your artwork layout wasnt handling the spacing for large fonts correctly - thats fixed for the next update
