Musicbee on my fanless win8 machine

Its stated that Musicbee is for Win8 but .net Framework 4.8 does not work on win8.
I have tried everything i can imagine all evening. What is the way to success?

What version of MB are you using? (Help > About) INCLUDE THE LETTER (if any) AFTER THE NUMBER
How was MB installed? (Store, Installer, Portable)
Can you be more specific about "it does not work"?
Does it start and not play?
Does it not start?
Exactly what doesn't work?

Not that this helps at all, but MusicBee 3.5 & 3.6 portable work perfectly well on my Win 8.1 machine. Can't tell you which version of .net it's running as I'm not currently at my machine at home.

it should work. Perhaps try re-installing .net 4.8 from the microsoft site

Windows 8 and .net Framework 4.8 is not compatible. I can't install it.

Yep--first upgrade for free to 8.1 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/update-to-windows-8-1-from-windows-8-17fc54a7-a465-6b5a-c1a0-34140afd0669), then install NET Framework 4.8.
