Library\Relink Music File Paths remember last used Directories

It would be nice if File - Library\Relink Music File Paths would remember the last used directories from -> to.

I am at the moment copying iTunes Playlists 1 by 1 (yes I know I can do it faster) and every time I have to add the from "d:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\"  and the to "d:\MusicBee\Music\"

Not a major thing but would just be nice to have

My "From" directories are still in my relink music file paths from when I first installed MB and ran the correction in 2017.  I've changed from installer version to portable version since then.  Must be stored somewhere.

I am just saying what I am seeing. It definitely NOT saves the From (which in my case is the Itunes Music Dir) and also not the To Dir.

If it's a setting then please let me know which setting, I looked, but I could not find it.

I am just saying that mine are there 5 years and one massive version change later, so obviously they are or were being saved somewhere.

As I understand it, the 'Relink Music File Paths' function is primarily designed for when all your music files (or a section of) are moved outside of MusicBee, and enables all files to be quickly relinked to the new folder location. (This is particularly useful when setting up a new PC and having to use a new folder structure, or when moving all music files to/from an external drive etc.)

For example, if you have moved all your music files from 'FolderPathA' to 'FolderPathB' then you should setup this function:
  map music file path from FolderPathA  and to FolderpathB

On rerunning this function you will note that 'FolderPathB' is now saved as the 'map music file path from' folder path.
This seems to me to be correct (since if you are going to relink again it will most likely be from FolderPathB to another,  FolderPathC).

So that would be a -1 from me.
Not a strong opinion as it is not a function that would normally be used regularly.

@iammike: I am not sure what you are doing to warrant repeated use of this function but I can't hep the feeling that this might not be the preferred method.

Please read my Opening Post, as you can see in there, I explained that I am importing iTunes Playlist one by one, I don't want to import my WHOLE itunes Lib in one go.

Edit: And I have already noticed (read my topic in the Questions section) that importing Playlists doesn't import everything, until I can find a solution I am doing ALL files that I import by hand in changing the Loved tag. If I did that after importing my whole iTunes Lib that would take me forever. And I am copying the Files to the MB location (so that is why the Relink) so in the end I will have a FULL iTunes Lib and a FULL separate MB lib  (Yes I know I don't need to do that   )

And I also know (as already said) it's not the preferred method (but it's a method I feel comfortable with that IMHO is important to me), the suggestion is just a thought, the Developer can implement it or not, and AFAIK as I see it, it would be not that difficult to implement just saving the last dirs in From and To. That is it.

Obviously, as has been pointed out, the directories are already stored.

What you are doing by constantly re-importing different playlists as iTunes libraries is erasing / overwriting what's stored.  

So it's a -1 for me, as making a change for a very specific and highly irregular use-case for something I'm fairly sure no one else would want to do (have two distinct but identical sets of music files just to use two programs to play them back) doesn't seem wise.  This doesn't seem like something MB should have to change to accommodate.

but as I already explained in other threads, I am personally switching to an Android Phone and my wife stays on iPhone.

And because I have painstakingly setup my iTunes Lib over many years, I don't want to mess it up (but I have again explained this). And that is why I am keeping 2 libs.

1 for iTunes and 1 for MB.

And where did I say that I will playing them back in 2 programs? That is assuming on your part.

But for your info I will be leaving for Europe for an extended period and will take the MB Lib with me, the iTunes LIB stays at home for my wife to change / add sync etc etc.

Again it was a just a simple suggestion and IMHO not a major change (just saving paths)

My wife doens't play music through Itunes on PC, she just syncs. And she is not interested in Playcounts etc etc and in a year she did not add 1 song to the lib and II DOUBT sincerely that  (during the time that I am away) she will sync even once, maybe only in case she has a new phone.

And when I come back from the Trip the MB will be the main Lib. I am not going to sync 2 ways / maintain 2 libs in the future.

Ps: That said yes, at the moment I play SONGS (read carefully where it says at the moment) via iTunes because my MB lib only has a fraction (90 songs) of the my iTunes Lib. but I only sporadically listen to MB because I am as already said MANY times just going from iTunes -> MB.

Edit Please DO NOTE: The first song I added to my iTunes Lib was in 2008, so that is 15 years of carefully maintaining it, and I don't want to F............ that up because of some error I make with MB, so that is why 2 LIBS (and PLEASE don't mention backups)

Sorry that my way of doing it, is not the proper way you think it is, but that is the way I feel comfortable with, and that is more important then what is considered preferred on here (and that is only because I am not that used to MB yet, just using it approx a week)

This thread seems to be getting a little bit to heated.

If you have suggestions that you believe may improve MusicBee, you should always share them.
(after having giving them some serious thought and after having used MusicBee for a longer period)
If an idea gets commented on in a less positive way, that just can happen.
Somebody else may respond positively later. Or the developer may have his own thoughts on it and do something.

Or the wish can get completely ignored by everyone.
(which I myself dislike much more than getting negative feedback ;-)

I thought I was quite measured in my responses in light of increasingly hostile commentary back.  Just a humble MB user contributing my 2 cents to the pot of knowledge.
