Just to stir the already murky waters up a bit, it seems if I delete one file from my phone, then re-sync it, the lyrics are there. So I tried deleting one album and resyncing, lyrics are there, so i tried two albums, and the lyrics are there. So maybe it's just too many files at once (4428 files)? Seems strange I know. I may investigate further.

Nope, disproved that theory.  :(
If I delete the album Troubador, by J.J. Cale, then resync it, the first song (Hey Baby) misses lyrics (and they are definitely in the original flac), but all other songs have their lyrics!
But the album New Values by Iggy Pop, none of them have lyrics.
I just can't find a pattern in album names, song names, artist names, oh well.

If I do a Send to>Format converter to my hard drive the files are fine.

Hi Arpe,

Since no one else has managed to reproduce this issue, can I suggest that you take your phone out of the equation:

If you have a USB drive hanging around, sync to this instead using the same sync settings to see if this works.

If you don't have a USB drive, create a new folder C:\TestVD (or maybe a better name!) and configure it as a virtual device (Preferences > Devices > Add Virtual Device (and select your new folder). Use that to test the sync.

Thanks Tjinc, I tried to a flash drive, and all was well.
I now believe, after much more mucking around and copying and converting and syncing, that it is a fault of my Android music player, Musicolet. It's a great app, perfect for me, except this!

Sorry to have wasted others' time.

Glad you got to the bottom of it - even if it wasn't exactly what you wanted to find.
