I have used MusicBee as my only music player for years, but it's starting to annoy me.

I lost a large swathe of my library the other day and had to reimport it. Again, not idea why the program decided to delete all my music from my library.

When i reimported my music, a large number of files were imported with no metadata, so I have no idea what the songs are. I really haven't the patience to go and readd titles, artists, albums, lyrics and images to the over 4000 songs that are missing this data.

I have moved over to Winamp now. I know it's old school but it just friggin works and without these stupid "glitches".

Winamp is nice for people with rudimentary skills and low expectations.  I used it myself back before I knew what I was doing.

well my expectations are for a program that doesn't randomly delete my library so I have to import everything again, so here's hoping THOSE low expectations are met by Winamp.

MB doesn't delete anything unless you have told it to. Or have configured something without actually understanding what it does.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

That's what I thought as well. then i get a pop up asking if want to delete several thousand files out of my library that are still there and accessible. so I say no.

Today I come to the program and there's loads of (unknown) files in my library (around 12,000 at last count) that somehow lost all their meta data and the program seemed to have expunged them from my library.

Happy days.

While I can imagine you are frustrated, your post is not helpful or useful in any way.

If you think MusicBee has a bug making it randomly deleting library files, don't you think that would have come to light over the last 14 years and would have been reported by other users?
So it's almost certainly something happening on your side.

If you want help in solving it, you could create a post in 'Questions', describing what you have been doing and providing details about your setup.

Your post is not a bug report, since you provide no details or information that makes what you are claiming replicable, so that it could be verified or researched.
So for now it's nothing more than a random complaint that is not of any use to anybody.

But if this is just meant as a goodbye and you believe Winamp is better for you, enjoy it!
(and perhaps express some appreciation for the many years that you have enjoyed MusicBee? Some 12 years if I am correct?)

b.t.w.
If you do decide to switch to Winamp, allow me to recommend version 2.95
It served me very well for many years. (and is still considered to be the best version ever by some)
I have enjoyed it tremendously. (until switching to MediaMonkey, then foobar2000, and now MusicBee)

edit
I (think I) am largely (but maybe not completely?) being truthful and honest here.
Let me prove it by sharing a very personal and intimate picture of one of the true loves in my life:

Never surpassed, and even MusicBee can't hold a candle to this 20+ years later.

After time has passed and wounds have healed, I can now say: I wish that she will bring you the same joy as she has brought me.

AIMP is also a good alternative for people who want a library-based music player with simpler options than MusicBee.
Better than Winamp in many ways, given the new version of that looks weird and the old version is... well... really old.
