Fade out a song within a playlist

Is it possible to fade out a song within a playlist?  Let's say it is 2 minutes long and you want to fade it out over a few seconds at 1 minute, would that be possible.

There's a 'crossfade' setting in the Preferences that sounds like it could do what you want. Note that the setting is global though, I doubt you can limit it to just playlists only.
