New User, Scan Freezes

Downloaded MusicBee from web site, started scan on an external drive E, and scan froze.
Restarted program, could not get Scan to restart. Un-installed app, re-installed from Microsoft Store, but again Scan froze, on 5,236 of 21,187. Again, cannot get Scan to re-start.
Ran Disk Check via Glary Utilities, it reported no errors

Any suggestions?

Sometimes a corrupted file can stop MusicBee from completing its scan.
Try adding your music in smaller batches to narrow down which one might be causing a problem.

(And in general, don't use the Windows Store version of MusicBee unless you need to - a portable or normal installation will be easier to manage and troubleshoot)

I have updated MB so that when a corrupted file freezes the scan process, MB will log that filename to the error log.

And the easiest way to find the error log is Help > Support > View Error Log

Uninstall the store version, then install the desktop version from the downloads page.
The download this file:

unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

Did as suggested, but had the same problem. Then repeated the install process as suggested and ran Scan against a sub set of my library (different drive & Folder)
It too stopped, having scanned 5,141 of 9,689 items. That may not have been exactly the same number at which Scan stopped on the dull library, but it is quite close.
SO my first guess would be a capacity problem??

it wont solve the freezing - it should log the file it freezes in the error log (help/ support/ view error log)
what version does help/ about say?

...it would appear - as posited earlier - several of your files are corrupted.
Try rescanning without the folders for the above files selected.
