To detect low quality files I use the amazing spectrogram plugin by zkhcohen, when files have no information above eg: 16khz I put (16k) at the beginning of the title.

Could this be automated?

Lower quality files can have spikes which reach beyond the shelf so the sensitivity of detection needs to be adjustable.

Not sure how this would work but my idea goes something like this:

If less than -5-% information is detected above -16- khz => write -(16k) %title%- to tag field -title-
If less than -5-% information is detected above -18- khz => write -(18k) %title%- to tag field -title-

This won't be able to detect if files are good quality but it will detect the worst files which never go above a certain khz.
