Author Topic: Artist Artwork Display is pulling wrong artists and "Ban Image" isn't working?  (Read 736 times)

Hello. I've seen many threads throughout the years about this, but most times it has happened to me was with small time artists like the three thousand indie black metal bands I listen to, but this time I've notice it's been happening with big bands like Metallica (screenshot example).
And, even though I click "Ban Picture", sometimes it returns later.

Is there a way to change the parameters of the artwork search, or where it is searching?

Sidenote, if I save multiple images with the band name in the folder (like Metallica 1.jpg, Metallica 2.jpg), does it rotate between them or will it only show the one called literally "Metallica.jpg"?

Pictured: Slayer, which is not Metallica.

(PS: spiders aren't insects!)

We (the forum admins) have no control over the questions/answers that appear in the registration captcha. We are at the mercy of the free captcha utility. If you have a complaint about it, contact the captcha provider.

After the new website redesign, and the introduction of a captcha for the forum, I registered a test account and some of the questions were phrased such that a technically correct was not possible. I think it's because of a "lost in translation" situation by the captcha developer.

Yeah, that was just a little joke, sorry for that.

Too bad no one could answer the real part of the topic :/

yes, we went to offtopic.

try the following: edit> prefs> tags (2)> auto-tagging> artwork, click button "...", and try to untick one more artwork providers.

p.s. which mb version are you using? google had provided very unreliable results, but it's removed from artwork providers in the latest mb versions.

1.
No, there isn't. The reason you may keep on seeing the "same" picture even after you've banned it may be that:
While it is still the same picture, it is now coming from a different source - so it's not actually the one you banned the first time around.
So yeah, there's no way around it other than to ban it every time a different source displays it.

2.
I don't know about that one, but "image_#" has always worked for me (cycling through all of them).
So I'm guessing it also works with a space in between? You would just have to experiment with it to know for sure.
Favourite song at the moment:   Decode by Paramore

Thanks, I'll experiment with it.
