Author Topic: Artist/Band Images Don't Change in Compilation Albums  (Read 373 times)

Hi,
Just as background I have all album and artist/band art stored locally with the songs and each song in Music Bee is tagged linking to the files on disk rather than embedding.  I'm using the standard layouts for album and playlists. So when playing, the image rotates between album cover and artist image.
The thing I'm finding is that for any sort of playlist or album where the album name is the same but the artist is different for each song it will display the same artist (the first in the list) for each song.  It seems like the program loads the album and artist art and then only checks for a new artist image if the album changes.
Hopefully I'm missing a setting or doing something wrong, as I would like for the artist image to be checked for each track and change it each time.
I hope that makes sense.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, GravitySatchel.

...for any sort of playlist or album where the album name is the same but the artist is different for each song it will display the same artist (the first in the list) for each song.
For one of these albums, when you open any song other than the first with the Tag Editor:
What artist picture do you see in the artwork tab? That of the first song?

...and each song in Music Bee is tagged linking to the files on disk rather than embedding.
For such an album described in the start post, are all the different artist images located under the same album folder? If so, how are they named?
I'm assuming it's in the Tags(1) tab of the preferences screen where you've told MusicBee to link your local artist images to the songs.
What filter or naming criteria have you used to point to those images?
I already spend hours on end on social media. Might as well spare a few of those to a greater purpose here.

Hi Mayibongwe.  Thanks for the welcome and the reply.

OK, I'm feeling a bit silly now. I was running version 3.2 and saw that there are a couple of newer versions available.  So I upgraded to 3.5 and the artist images now change correctly.

Sorry to waste your time.
