Is this possible with the API?

I have MB running on a server and use it to generate static playlists from auto-playlists every week or so. These are used by my subsonic server. Is it possible to write a plugin to automate the export of these playlists, say once a week. I was just starting to look into it but i thought i would check that this would be possible.

auto-playlists have a flag in the dialog to that automatically exports a static copy. The export path is configured in the Library settings and is exported each time MB exits where the library has changed

Would a tag change be classed as a library change in this case?
