Bug: Sorting by year splits certain albums

Judas Priest - Painkiller was released in 1990, then in 2001 it was rereleased with Living Bad Dreams as a bonus track. Because LBD is marked as 2001, when sorting by Album Artist / Year / Album MusicBee splits the album into two:


Expected behaviour is keeping them together and sorting the album by the majority of the song's year, ie 1990.

You shouldn't create a software bug report for what is actually you not understanding how to use sorting and grouping.

i agree this is not a bug. Perhaps make use of the Original Year field and sort by Original Year or create a virtual tag that applies the original year if populated and year if not populated
