Hello;

the search didn't come up with a possible solution, so maybe can show me the right direction.
I have my music files and database on a NAS and access this from different PCs.

That creates the effect that all PCs share the same settings.
My main annoyance is, that when I enqueue some songs to be played, the same queue appears on the other clients when they start Musicbee.

Is there a way to have per-client/local user-settings while still on the same database?

Thank you very much for your help.

The short and simple answer is that MB is not intended to be a multi-user application.

When you say you have your "database" on the NAS, what exactly are you referring to?
Is the MB application on the NAS also?
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Hello,
ok, the correct term in MB is library i guess, not database.
So i have this directory on the NAS:

27.01.2023  09:42    <DIR>          .
11.01.2023  10:22    <DIR>          ..
28.11.2022  22:22    <DIR>          Artist Pictures
23.10.2022  15:57       241.226.529 iTunes Music Library.xml
27.01.2023  09:42               105 mb.txt
29.12.2021  16:25        89.578.795 MusicBeeLibrary - Kopie.mbl
16.01.2023  13:19        89.578.795 MusicBeeLibrary.bak
17.03.2022  12:30         4.096.000 MusicBeeLibrary.lyrics
21.01.2023  18:43        89.578.795 MusicBeeLibrary.mbl
27.09.2022  06:44             1.230 MusicBeeLibrary.pfidx
16.01.2023  13:19             3.702 MusicBeeLibrarySettings.bak
21.01.2023  19:19             3.702 MusicBeeLibrarySettings.ini
15.03.2021  09:13               695 MusicBeeLibrarySettings_corrupted_20210315081352.ini
21.01.2023  19:18               291 NowPlaying.mbp
27.09.2022  06:40    <DIR>          Playlists
27.01.2022  15:21    <DIR>          Podcasts
12.12.2022  19:50           483.370 Settings 2022-Dez-12 0750.ini
22.01.2022  10:34           474.639 Settings 2022-Jan-22 1034.ini

The music files are there too, in another directory and the MB application is installed locally on three PCs.

You might decide to leave the audio on the NAS and have a local library on each PC.
This allows each user to have its own settings like playlist, panel layout, etc., etc.

Yes, but two users can't be changing/updating tags at the same time. And when one user makes changes to files in the library, the other PC won't reflect them until a refresh is done.

Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I think they can as they do have separate libraries.
Only if they write tags at the same time to  the same file, a conflict will arise.
Wonder how often this will happen.
But I agree, Musicbee is not intended to be used as a multi user app.

Agree.
I often update tags outside Musicbee. I have Musicbee set to monitor folders on startup.
Musicbee is pretty fast in detecting these changes.
One might decide to change this to permanent monitoring in case of shared audio files.

Exactly. I haven't tried it in a while, and I'm not going to invest any time in it now, but I did experiment with doing this many years ago.
