Dear hiccup,

Thank you very much for quick answer and warm welcome!
You have absolutely right not to make this thread filled with unnecesary basic concepts.
But I would be enormosly grateful if you could help me with this particular situation shown on the screenshot.
Maybe I am trying to use your codes for vritual tags in the wrong place or in unapropriate way?

Could you re-post (a link to) the screenshot in a lossless (e.g. PNG) and not resized format?
In it's current form I can't read the details.

Is it better now?
No.
Does it look sharp and pixel-perfect to you when you click the link yourself?
(and… we are already drifting off-topic)

When I click the link and zoom in picture it does look sharp and pixel-perfect. Can you also zoom the picture?
(My deep apologize for that... we can delete this conversation aftewords)

Strange, for me using zoom does not zoom to original size but only to a slightly larger (but still unreadable) size.
But when I download the image to my computer, it is pixel-prefect indeed.
Perhaps it's something related to my (Firefox) browser? Or some Imgur behaviour I am not aware of?
Never mind, I'll take a look now.

edit
So your screenshot comes from a computer display that has a resolution that exceeds mine. And Imgur doesn't seem to provide some 'actual size' view, so even 'zoom' remains restricted.
Even while off-topic, let's leave the posts concerning this here. They might be useful to others that (same as me) aren't aware of this.

That's a bit strange indeed.
What does it say when you hover over the exclamation mark?

For know, the only explanation that I have is that the custom tag (Picard title full) was not yet 'acknowledged' by MusicBee before you created the virtual tags.
When creating a new custom tag, after pressing 'save' MusicBee will need to rescan your complete library to take effect.
Maybe that was somehow interrupted?
Maybe rescan your library, restart MB and try to add the virtual tags again?

It does say: The virtual tag expression cannot be parsed @ >,₁)="T",$Split($Split(<Picard title full>,₁,2),¹,1),)
Meanwhile I will try suggested steps.

I rescaned library and restarted MB, but alas it pops out same message!

Strange.

Let's do a test. When in the tag editor panel and you press the … button here: (never mind the tags and formulas displayed in the screenshot)

does it show the newly created 'Picard title full' custom tag on the right 'Field Selector' panel?

Yes it does show.
Then I am out of ideas for today.
I'll need fresh eyes or mind (or somebody else's?) to figure out what is going on here.

A random thought based on not much: is there something non-standard that could be mentioned about your Windows version or regional/language settings?

Ok, so this is bugging me ;-)

If you could do me a favour:
Download MusicBee portable:
https://mega.nz/file/MxETQAxS#3gaBLs4InYbIYDmxA_wDYJzFeI-FIcC6ffQo7lljUmg
and install it somewhere outside Windows' system folders. (preferably on some D: or E: drive)
(it won't interfere with your current MusicBee install in any way)

- create the custom tag:
Code
Picard title full
- save and restart MusicBee

- create the virtual tag:
Code
$If($Contains(<Picard title full>,₁)="T",$Split($Split(<Picard title full>,₁,2),¹,1),)
Does creating the virtual tag then still trigger that exclamation/warning?
