Hi all, after a few years of using MusicBee, my library has grown to the point where using the sidebar to browse artists is no longer convenient, so I'm looking to switch to a nested view sort of setup. I configured the main panel to show an artist's catalogue in a separate panel upon double clicking them, like so:

This works perfectly for my needs, but for some artists I listen to very frequently, I've gotten into the habit of collecting singles, EPs, live albums, demos, etc. This would normally badly clutter the view, so I have long used a virtual tag to group releases by type, so it's much more manageable:

However, inside the separate artist panel, when I select my release type tag (or any other tag) to group by, it immediately reverts to "No Grouping" and nothing changes. How do I fix this?
And as a minor side question, is there any way to rearrange the order of my grouping categories? (Such as Studio Albums, EPs, Singles, Demos; instead of the reverse alphabetical order I've been using)

I had not, thanks for showing me! The zero-width space trick works like a charm—honestly kind of mad I didn't think of it myself. Still no luck getting it to group in the separate panel view though.

You may have to create a Custom View in the separate panel in order to have your settings stick.
I'm suggesting this off memory, so I may be wrong, however.

I did mess around with custom views for a bit, but I can't get the grouping to apply in the first place, let alone have it persist.

Can you provide screenshots the list of Custom Views, with the one you're attempting to manipulate saved, plus the Layout preferences for this View?
