Is there a plugin available to have the artwork downloader also check Discogs for album covers?

No but adding the 3rd-party Album Art Downloader to your MusicBee Prefs/Tools section will allow you to query Discogs and many others not included in the built-in downloader:  https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=28212.0.  The Discogs module was recently updated.
