Organize Files - What Does It Really Do?

Newbie here, and I've searched the forums high and low and couldn't find an answer to these most basic questions:

1. What does Organize Files actually do?  I've got 20K music files arranged by folders that are also tagged.  Does it actually move my files, or copy them?
2. What will the new file hierarchy look like?
3. Does is re-tag them?
4.  Should I re-tag my files beforehand?
5. What about custom compilation albums/folders/artwork?  How does it handle these?
6. What about bootleg albums?
