sometimes mb version number has letter "P" at the end (e.g. "3.5.8150 P"), sometimes doesn't. what does this "P" mean?

"P" is the Portable version. I believe "S" is the Windows Store version and "D" is the Installer version. (Disclaimer: I may be wrong about S and D, but P is 100% correct.)

My experience has been that when forum members post or ask asked for their version number, the majority of them leave out the letter.

Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

My experience has been that when forum members post or ask asked for their version number, the majority of them leave out the letter.
My experience has been that when forum members post or ask about a problem with the installation of MusicBee, the majority of them are using the Microsoft Store version, which makes me think it's a bit rubbish*.  ::)

*Because of the Windows Store, not because of MusicBee.
